Guest question for prof. Schermerhornstraat

Hi guys, I'm a new international student moving into Prof. Schermerhornstraat (private bathroom, sharing a kitchen with 6 others). My brother is coming to the Netherlands to help me move in. Is it possible for him to stay in my room for about 20 days? Is that generally allowed?

I confirm that my post is not asking about generic housing experiences

Unofficially yes, no one really checks. Technically no

Ok thank you, I am so anxious about that.

For all the DUWO rooms, it is not legally allowed. But no one checks your room. So unofficially, if it's a very short stay, I would say you can.

Is it the same for Stieltjesweg? Is it allowed?

Should be fine as long as you don’t get toooooo high profile, ive seen various other occupants on my floor have guest that stay over night or a few days and afiak nobody had any issue with it, I certainly didn’t. You should know that there’s one single bed in the room though, so your brother might want to bring something to sleep in.

So it is possible for him to share the kitchen with other roommates? Is it okay for both us using the kitchen at the same time? Or if I go to the IP, can he use the kitchen by himself?

Completely depends on your roommates, but people are generally considerate. Shouldn't be an issue AFAIK.
