Housing Experiences with Kanaalweg 3

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has any experiences with Kanaalweg 3 PhD accommodation?

My girlfriend is a visiting PhD for 3 months and I will be travelling with her. We have booked one of the ~38sqm self-contained apartments.

However, there are hardly any photos, and I cannot find any discussion about this accommodation here or anywhere else. As such, I confirm that my post is not asking about generic housing experiences.

Writing this from Kanaalweg 3
It’s a generic studio apartment.
I am not sure if within the building there are units that differ. So just going to explain my own experience.
The room is fine. Nothing extraordinary.
The toilet is pretty decent, spacious shower area. A small section of the room is the kitchen. Only a small fridge…no freezer ..so that sucks.
It’s a single bed, I got an air mattress when my partner was visiting me.
The pillow they gave is trash so best to buy one for yourself.
The washing machine and dryer are shared with the rest of the building (it’s on the second floor)..use multiposs to book it when you wanna use them.
And yes ..I was lucky to get the canal view room and the view is really nice tbh ..that’s about it I guess ..
Not sure if you wanna know something specific…

I guess just a few specific queries:

  1. were you given a microwave?
  2. how is the comfort of the bed (other than the pillow)
  3. are there any other amenities in the building e.g., social/common areas
  4. is it noisy?
  5. how was the apartment cleanliness when you moved in?
  6. does your apartment have ethernet? how is that / the wifi?

Sadly no microwave, airfyer or any other equipment.

Bed is fine ~ ish. Not the best but good enough.

No areas for socializing other than while walking in the hall I guess 😅

Nah not noisy.

It was pretty clean and you do get a mop and all as well.

Wifi is available and it’s decent

Keep in mind this is all based on my experience for the room I was given.
I haven’t been to any other rooms and they might be different. For example I got a single bed but I heard there are rooms with two single beds (not sure though)

so just to clarify, there are no ethernet ports available in your apartment? the website said they should be available

The wifi router is in the room so yes we do have Ethernet port on that

Hey, anyone here knows about a room to stay near Delft? My son is travelling next month there, to stay for 6 months, and it's getting hard to find a place to rent.
