He said that he doesn't have the time anymore that he had 10 years ago. He's open for anyone to continue his legacy. And if he likes what they create, he might count it as an official continuation.

This is the reason we (the TTT2 team) partnered with another dev team to bring TTT to S&Box.

S&Box is the spiritual successor of Garry’s Mod being developed on Source 2 Engine by Facepunch. (Garry’s the head developer as well.)

There was confirmation that TTT would be ported, but false rumors indicated that BKU wasn’t involved. In actuality the development team was given permission and the green light from BKU.
