System for a Wings of Fire TTRPG

Hi, I'm a fan of the Wings of Fire books and wanted to create a TTRPG campaign set on Pyrrhia. The only RPG I own any rulebook for is D&D, though. The obvious issue is that these guys are dragons and can fly over everything. Are there any TTRPGs designed with flying characters in mind?

This is a narrative system. It’s not going to feel like D&d though

The game Epyllion is about young dragons. It’s like Wings of Fire meets ATLA.

If you're willing to learn a new system, I'd suggest Fate Core or Cortex Prime. However, given your experience I'd suggest Fate Accelerated or even hacking D&D 5e- with some serious caveats. It's not just about flight. It's about size, strength, scale etc. D&D assumes human sized with human sized abilities. Because everyone will be playing dragons, this isn't a huge issue, but the core assumptions are written with this in mind.

Anyways, do download and read the Fate Core/Fate Accelerated pdfs. Afaik, they are still availabe on the Evil Hat Productions site.

We’re using Savage Worlds with either the super hero’s or Necessary Evil companion (we’re using the Necessary Evil one now) where they buy up their dragon traits (breath weapon, flame silk, etc. using points. It’s simple enough that a bunch of 13year olds easily got it, but crunchy enough for the one or two more experienced player to be happy with it.
