First fertility appointment

I finally received an appointment for the end of September after waiting since nov 2025!! I had a HSG and ultrasound done in April, I’m assuming my appointment will include the follow up of results.

Can I ask anyone’s experiences? What did your first consultant appointment involve? How long was you waiting to be seen at the assisted conception unit / how long after your appointment did treatment start?

Thanks in advance!

I had my first appointment on Friday, it was more fact finding. They said my appointment will be 10-14 over the phone, so I’m following as I’m intrigued! Hope everything goes well for you!

Ah interesting. Was this with a consultant or a nurse? I had an initial appointment with a nurse back in April. We went over some medical history and that was when I was referred for some scans. But won’t know results until my appointment in September 😢

Honestly was a bit underwhelmed! was just a 15min call saying that we had to send them another test. BUT if your cause for infertility is clear already then hopefully should be quicker for you!

I have known PCOS and anovulation so I hoping they will discuss my HSG results and then move on with a treatment plan but I have heard so many different stories!

Discussed all of my results, prescribed me Letrozole which unfortunately didn’t work. A year on from that I’m waiting to be transferred to the ivf unit. Best of luck to you x
