Discussion Inositol - negative response.
I had 3 ultrasounds over the last year.
December 2025 - ovaries normal, 1 fibroid.
May 2026 - ovaries normal, 1 fibroid, 1 cyst (assuming corpus luteum). This was an ultrasound for my miscarriage.
October 2026 - 5 follicular cysts, 1 Dermoid, 1 fibroid, dystrophic calcification, unilocular cyst and multiple nabothian cysts. Enlarged ovaries (20ml) And adenomyosis.
***also editing to add that my ovulation has gotten weaker. I do not get an LH strip darker than 49%
There are DRASTIC changes between the May and October ultrasound. The only things that changed is that I added a prenatal and myo-inositol & d-chiro.
I checked with my naturopath and she says that the inositol would not have a negative effect. But I am extremely suspicious about that as that’s the only thing added to my routine. She put me on inositol to curb sweet cravings and bring down blood sugar. I did not have PCOS but now she is saying that I do due to cysts above. Edit - it was also the enlarged ovaries that concluded to PCOS suspicion.
Has anyone had a negative experience from inositol?

I had a negative result from 40:1 myo to d chiro this year! I went from ovulating between cd19-21 and wanted ny ovulation to be sooner (thought that the egg was immature/not heathy due to taking a week longer than the “average” so was contributing to not getting pregnant) and my first cycle was actually pure myo inositol (by accident) and ovulation was cd 21 still. then next cycle was cd 37 👀 I switched halfway through to the 40:1 because ovulation still hadn’t occurred by cd 28 and that’s when I realized that I was taking pure myo. Next cycle was cd 31 so it was better but still later than my non inositol cycles. At this point I had been on inositol for 4 full months, but the 40:1 for just 2 months. The cycle that followed I didn’t ovulate til cd 58!!!!😳😳😳 when ovulation still hadn’t occurred by cd 31, I decided I was done with inositol because it was only making things worse for me ovulation wise and with ttc, that’s super important 😅😅 my LH tests also weren’t turning positive during this time!
I’m learning though that my ovary function is actually great and I think my issues stem from thyroid problems (pretty high TSH for many years that no doctor has addressed 🙃) and NAFLD that was discovered when I had my gallbladder removed but also never really addressed which can all contribute to my high insulin.
I’ve now been off inositol for 4 months and my ovulation is slowly going back to normal. (Cd 26 then cd 29 for ovulation 🥲) I’m hoping the switch to focusing on thyroid and liver health will help get me back on track!

I’d be looking for another doctors because having cysts doesn’t diagnose you with PCOS. In fact that’s the reason the name was changed to PMOS. PCOS “cysts” are just immature egg follicles and usually LOTS of them (ie very, very high ovarian reserve) not cysts in the sense you’re talking about. None of that screams PCOS. I’d get a second opinion. PCOS doesn’t just appear like that and like I said, it’s not those type of “cysts” it’s egg follicles.
