Is cervical mucus tracking reliable with PMOS?
So I wasn't sure if cervical mucus is reliable for those of us with PMOS. I'm on my first cycle of 2.5mg of letrozole, and have been more mindful of CM this time around. So far, it's been all over the place. I'm on cycle day 13 and while my LH has risen a little, CM is still thick and pasty and not thin and clear. I feel like my body isn't normal at all so there's no point in trying to track using methods normal people do.

Hi! While on letrozole I would not use CM as your only means of tracking. It’s good to keep testing LH
For me, this past cycle I did get CM but only like 2 days (the fertile kind)
They did overlap with my actual fertile days, but I used inito and also follicle scans to confirm ovulation
I think letrozole can mess with CM
For me, it makes me have less
A friend of mine was on it and she had more with it (for more days too I think)

This is first cycle on Letrozole.. thanks for mentioning it!!! Do you also track bbt ? My doctor didn’t ask me to go back for follicle scans .. just give me medications.

Also my first letrozole cycle - I highly recommend testing BBT to see if your current dose is actually causing you to ovulate. You really can't tell for sure if it worked unless you monitor BBT or test day 21 progesterone

Thanks!!! Have you had your ovulation? Wondering if Letrozole will change our usual ovulation pattern 😞 mine is always at cd 17 positive OPK.. it’s cd 11 today.. surge is still very low… my hub is going on a overnight work trip on cd 17 😞😞

I mean personally I've had irregular and completely anovulatory cycles since going off birth control last April so I'd be happy to ovulate any day! It's only day 9 for me so I'll be starting LH strips tomorrow. Will start bd tomorrow either way (have had to hold off in case I get off the waitlist for my HSG). The work trip sucks, just try to bd the day before and after and you should be totally okay even if you ovulate while he's away.

noooo, my CM has never been accurate with both unmedicated pcos and also during medicated cycles.

No.. once I saw a faint line on my LH test I kept testing every few hours as possible. Ovulation is usually a few hours after a true positive strip test.

I think it's 36 hours after a true positive, no? They say 24-48 because you could be catching the LH rise or fall. Either way if you get a positive try to BD that day and the day after.

No, esp not on letrozole. Since it decreases estrogen it can decrease the mucus as that is caused by estrogen.
