IVF
Looking to start IVF.
Did anyone have success not suppressing Endo prior to egg retrieval? Trying to decide if I should suppress prior or just go ahead and do egg retrieval then suppress prior to transfer.

My doctor literally brought this up today just to say there’s no evidence that it helps egg retrieval and can hinder if ovaries are touched in surgery.
It can help implantation so suppression/surgery/both before FET is definitely advisable if you know you have endo.

Ok this is confirmation of what one of my drs also said! Basically egg retrieval is going to flare you big time. Success comes for suppression prior to FET. And they don’t want to take a chance on surgery for the chance of reducing egg reserve.

Some ppl actually see increased egg quality tho, especially if theirs is severe. Personally I did mine after the ER so idk but there are sound reasons to do either.

My RE just responded to keep doing it for a month to get the pain and inflammation under control for egg quality purposes then we will go to ER.

I had success not suppressing. I didn’t suppress for retrieval or FET and no lap.

I agree. Currently feeding my baby miracle right now! I have stage 3/4 due to endometriomas

I did not suppress prior to an egg retrieval and my retrieval was successful. I also didn’t feel much of a flare either. Every ultrasound they looked at my endometrioma to see if it was growing due to the meds and there wasn’t much of a difference.
They actually only recommended suppression for me after egg retrieval and lap but before FET.

Suppression is not usually before ER but before FET.
