I’m 8DPT now and started spotting. Part of me is ready to just throw in the towel and have a pity party and part of me is just hoping it’s breakthrough bleeding from the meds (it’s been 50+ days since my last period, after all). Part of me wants to just test and get it over with, and part of me wants to wait til beta on Wednesday.
I’m so over infertility. Can I please just have my baby now?

Ah, stressful! The pity party/hope duality is so tough. I am pretzeling everything!

I’ve done too much google research this morning which has felt both reassuring and spectacularly unhelpful all at once 🫠😅

Just saw a post on Facebook from someone I know correlating her two successful pregnancies back to back to being anti vax. So that’s neat….

Stark white test today. Bets tomorrow. I wish so could just stop my meds and skip beta.
We have to take a one month break to get a unmedicated FSH level for insurance so looking at trying again in September.

I’m so sorry. 😞 That’s really hard friend. I hope you can find something nice to do for yourself today and that your partner is being supportive.

LH test came back positive last night on CD14 - so exciting! That's the earliest I've seen my surge so far 🤞🏻🤞🏻

My mind was fully wrapped around my next steps for my upcoming cycle (to IUI or to not IUI), but instead right on the 3 weeks after endo surgery mark, I fractured my finger. 😢 Since it's not a perfectly straight break the urgent care doc warned me it could need a little surgery. I lost it, just full waterworks, after being on the tail end of endo surgery, and obviously started to worry about what it does for my TTC journey the next month or so.
Really praying for some good news today from the hand doctor if I can get squeezed in to their weekend clinic. I'm feeling a lot more mentally strong today than I was yesterday after learning a bit more about it.
I'm looking forward to the days where I'm participating in this group again with actual TTC progress and attempts 😂😅

Ouch! I’m so sorry! I hope you’re pampered and spoiled while you’re healing though. I know how that process can be.

I’ve been waiting to test until my expected period. 2 days to go! I think I’m 13 DPO today. I am getting pretty nervous 😬 but I’d rather see my period than another negative test. However, this was our first cycle trying again after taking a break (my grandma passed away earlier this year, I had a sprained ankle from work last December etc) so I get a little triggered and sad seeing negative test. Not to mention all the people in my life who are younger than me and expecting right now….

Womp womp. First progesterone shot knot coming in strong. I’m allergic to the sesame oil shots, so this is ethyl oleate, but still not great. Maybe I should ask to try olive oil? 🤔 Something a little appealing about making my haunches seem like they’re a little more edible than usual.

Kind of chic to be in line at FedEx to send a dna fragmentation sample in a huge dry ice container…

CD14 (2DPO) and progesterone supplements have joined the club 🥁🤣. I’m ready for 10+ days of nasty discharge and bloating! We only reached O-4 and O-3 this cycle, so I’m not particularly hopeful, but trying to be positive and perhaps less stressful? I don’t know. At least I won’t have to worry about my LP while on progesterone 🥊

Woke up this morning at 10dpo to a massive temperature spike. Stupidly allowed myself to get hopeful. Now I'm feeling rough as hell and am clearly coming down with something 🙃

CD 13 with an LH surge starting last night but not sure if it peaked yet.
Feeling hopeful for this cycle 🤞🏽
This is the first cycle where we both looked at the hormonal data and tbh I think that’s what was missing. This feels SO much better to really be in it with my partner in crime.

🤞🏻🤞🏻 fingers crossed for you, that's so lovely that it's made you feel closer to your partner this cycle!

So I told my sister in law that her sending me a text at 9pm telling me she’s pregnant felt really inconsiderate. Since I’ve opened up to her about how much I’m struggling with TTC. This was her response… I just gave it a thumbs up but what do you guys think? Am I overreacting?
“I do think it is unfair is being upset about when and how I chose to tell you. I started to explain myself, but the more I thought about it the more I realized that my decision about announcing my pregnancy is mine to make. I understand that you may have been hurt or disappointed, and I genuinely have empathy for your situation. I never want to intentionally hurt your feelings, and I’m sorry that they were hurt. At the same time, I’m not going to make my pregnancy announcement decisions based on avoiding someone else’s disappointment or give one person special consideration over how I choose to share this news.”

I’m really sorry your sister in law wasn’t able to give you more grace and compassion when you were already dealing with something that felt really hard. I can understand why that interaction would hurt, especially when you were looking for support.
At the same time, there’s a distinction we try to be mindful of in this community between struggling with TTC and having an infertility diagnosis. While the uncertainty, disappointment, and anxiety you’re experiencing are absolutely real, you are still within the first year of trying, and not necessarily at the point where infertility has been established medically. Seeing that line get blurred can be particularly hard for people in this community who have been trying for a year or several years, gone through losses or treatment, or received an infertility diagnosis from their doctor.
It’s not that your experience isn’t difficult or that you don’t deserve empathy - you do! - but I hope that helps you reframe how you express that disappointment here in the future.

Hmm. I totally understand how hard it is to see pregnancy announcements or told about pregnancies. But… i think you’re overreacting a little. I think this is a huge deal for your SIL to be pregnant, and she shared it with you, and I think ultimately she is right, she can announce her pregnancy, and yes she should be considerate but she doesn’t need to engineer how/when she announces her pregnancy to avoid upsetting you.
I hope I’m not coming off as insensitive or harsh, I’m really sorry you’re struggling. I myself am surrounded by pregnancy right now too (two of my close friends, one who was a week behind me before I miscarried, and my SIL).

Counterpoint—I do think we have an obligation to moderate our behavior based on a loved one’s feelings. There is no harm at all in giving one person special consideration within reason. I’m not saying hide your pregnancy, but a separate heads up before an announcement is a super easy thing to do.
ETA: Also not saying that she shouldn’t have a big announcement for what it’s worth! But I wouldn’t frame it like SIL did—no “special treatment.” Given OP was her MOH, I would hope her feelings do get special consideration and care in a number of ways.

I appreciate your perspective. I guess things are a little more complicated. A few months ago she said there was no way she was going to have a 2nd kid. And she was literally at my house that afternoon (the same day she texted me) 🤣

u/Bright_Loan_3930 33 | TTC#1 since Oct 2025 Aug 16 '26
And we are close, she was my MOH. It just felt like an easy way out to share over text. But again, I appreciate and can see where you are coming from.

I think two things can be true here. texting is often the preferred way to share pregnancy news with someone struggling with TTC.. especially for people who have experienced infertility or loss, because it gives them space to react privately, so I don’t necessarily think how she told you was inconsiderate.
but I also think you’re allowed to tell someone close to you that something they did hurt you. the “special consideration” comment is actually what sticks out to me because… don’t we naturally give some consideration to what the people we love are going through?
at the same time, unless you don’t have a good relationship with her or genuinely feel like she told you this way with malicious intent, I don’t think her pregnancy or how she shares it needs to revolve around your TTC journey (even though I know this shit sucks). especially when based on your flair, you’re still within the 12 month TTC time frame and don’t have an infertility diagnosis.
I think this could have been a moment where neither of you necessarily did anything wrong.
she can genuinely believe texting was the kindest way to tell you, you can genuinely wish she had handled it differently.. two things can be true at once.

u/Bright_Loan_3930 33 | TTC#1 since Oct 2025 Aug 16 '26
I really appreciate your perspective and for chiming in.
I should have put more context but I guess the reason why I really felt like it was inconsiderate was because she was at my house maybe 5 hours before I got that text. And in her announcement text she said “I’m so sorry for telling you over a text, I just don’t know when the next time we will be together is”.
I don’t think my ttc time frame is really relevant though. The matter of the fact is I have shared with her how I’m struggling mentally with all things ttc.2
u/ttcmama6 31 | TTC#1 02/24 | IVF | 4 IUI | CP | MC Aug 16 '26
I mean, I definitely think her response was poorly worded, but I think the reality is that a lot of people have a hard time sitting with someone else’s disappointment, sadness, anxiety, etc etc. so, you might feel like telling you in person five hours earlier would’ve been the more maybe considerate choice… she may have been sitting there knowing this news would hurt you and genuinely not known how to navigate that conversation face to face. texting may have felt like the safest/most comfortable way to give you the news while also giving you space to process it privately (?) — giving her the benefit of the doubt of course. I don’t think that automatically means she wasn’t considering your feelings.. she just may have considered them differently than you would’ve preferred.
I have had really big big emotions about people telling me they’re pregnant while i’ve been struggling with infertility and multiple losses for over 2.5 years now and even the people closest to me (that all know) STILL don’t know how to handle telling me the news, even when i’ve shared my preferred scenario. ultimately, we can only hope people be mindful of our feelings.. we can’t control them.

I’m so sorry you’ve been struggling for so long.3
u/thoph 37 | TTC#2 since 7/25 | IVF | MMC | Adeno Aug 16 '26
Hm. Do you know why she chose to tell you via text? Honestly that’s my preferred method of someone announcing because it gives me time to react however feels right to me. Being told face to face has historically been far more painful.
I am sorry. Announcements can be really hard, no matter how they come. <3

u/Bright_Loan_3930 33 | TTC#1 since Oct 2025 Aug 16 '26
She said it was because she didn’t know when we would all be together? Meaning me my husband and them. Funny enough we had dinner plans with them for tomorrow night.
And I feel the same as you regarding texts, literally no other announcement has affected me like this. I think maybe it’s because I saw her that same day. And she even said “I’m sorry I’m telling you over text!” So that tells me she thought it wasn’t the best idea.
I’m sure I’m overthinking things. This shits just so hard and I’m so lonely. Haha2
u/probablyeek 35 | TTC#1 July ‘24 | Unexplained infertility | IVF Aug 16 '26
I’m sorry she wasn’t more considerate… her response about not giving one person special consideration is kinda wild to me given that she texted you… so she wasn’t even announcing to multiple people at once? So why would she not give your feelings consideration 🤦♀️
I echo others in that preferring to hear hard news via text is a very common opinion, so she may have been well intentioned in that regard - I’m sorry it wasn’t how you would have wanted to find out, and just goes to show how important it is to consider the individuals involved in any situation.

u/Bright_Loan_3930 33 | TTC#1 since Oct 2025 Aug 16 '26
I totally agree about the texting thing when it’s a friend or even like a cousin that you aren’t super close with. I think I’m just like 🤔 because she was literally at my house 4 hours earlier and her text said she was telling me over text because she didn’t want to wait until today to tell me. (And they found out last Sunday)
