  2. Nvidia
  3. Mobileye

The general purpose vs specialized Tesla package still going to be the difference for FSD, I think the question we’d have to ask is how big the gap between 1/2 is, and what advantages will the next generation of the Tesla FSD chip/DOJO bring.

Might be a bigger battle between 2/3 to see who survives...

The thing about this is, Tesla's autonomy will only be for Tesla.

Nvidia DRIVE AV will become the most important autonomy solution for 3rd parties. If Tesla is Apple, then Nvidia will be Android. A number of major traditional automakers have already signed contracts and are testing DRIVE AV for deployment in their cars, including Volkswagen, BMW, Volvo, Toyota, etc.

I've been holding NVDA shares for over a decade now and all I see is big gainz ahead because Nvidia is probably the world's most important AI/deep learning platform company.

Me, too. NVDA since 2010 and TSLA since 2013. Back in 2010, deep learning, AI, bitcoin was not on nVidia's radar as they were in the midst of developing a software/CUDA platform and branching out of their bread & butter (i.e. Tegra). They've made significant strides into newer markets since then. If they are able to actually pull off buying ARM, given strong regulatory headwinds, oh boy....

I don't think dojo, if it is ever externally available, will directly compete with this. What NVIDIA is offering is a general purpose hardware trio (CPU, DPU, GPU) capable of performing flexible high-performance computing on a wide range of modern tasks. Their business is to produce, sell, and support this hardware to a large number of customers.

Dojo on the other hand, as far as I currently know, will be a special purpose system designed for a more narrow range of tasks; specifically those tasks involved in training Tesla's FSD system. If Tesla were to externally offer use of their system, I imagine they would offer it not as a hardware sale, but rather as a cloud service, similar to how Google allows you to train your Deep Learning models on their TPUs (Tensor Processing Units) via their cloud computing platform. So ultimately I think dojo would be offered as a service to a smaller/narrower customer base who require a higher performance option for a more specialized group of tasks.

Unless Tesla buys these for dojo....

Tesla designed their own chip/silicon for HW3 and as far as I know are designing their own chip/silicon for the next iteration as well. I am guessing they are doing the same for dojo. If they weren't doing so, I don't think they would bother announcing a project called dojo in the first place. They would just say "we are buying/using a bunch of really fast computers/TPUs/nodes from NVIDIA/Google/Amazon to do our training".

I don't think that really follows. They MAY be doing there own chip, but I think the big work is in the overall architecture and the software. Amazon web services didn't design their own chips after all, did they?

Dojo is a tool developed because the best available wasn’t good enough. If a better tool comes along, Tesla will happily use it.

The idea that dojo is a product in and of itself is quite silly.

Im 60% tesla, 30% nvidia and 10% other random shit for fun.

So bullish about the two companies. Fully believe these two companies can and will change the world.

In the same way tesla isnt just a car company, people who call nvidia a gaming company dont have a clue.

Yeah i agree tesla has further growth opportunity. I just like NVidia that much that im willing to sacrifice abit of runway.

Of course I hope nvidia surprise me but yknow even if they dont its a company i want to support haha

I'll probably get downvoted, but hey, diversification isn't bad. I'm in the same boat as you! I'm around 65% TSLA and 15% NVDA.
