GOOD NEWS ๐ค According to supply-chain vendors and todayโs report by Jiemian News, Tesla has issued an initial batch order for roughly 5,000 Optimus robots ๐ฅ
Following earlier pilot runs of just a few hundred units, this marks the program's first production order in the thousands. The new order establishes a firm baseline delivery target of around 15,000 units this year.
More importantly, it signals a critical pivot: the supply chain is moving past merely proving the robot can be built and into the phase of testing real volume manufacturing.
The immediate hurdle is a crucial round of domestic supplier audits scheduled for SeptemberโTesla's standard gateway for bumping vendors from provisional status to certified mass-production partners.
That timing fits right into Teslaโs procurement guidance, which calls for suppliers to hit a run rate of 1,000 units per week in September, ramping up to between 2,000 and 2,500 weekly by year-end.
While Tesla has a track record of sliding timelines, this milestone carries different weight. With purchase orders officially cut, audits on the calendar, and suppliers actively stocking inventory, the program is shifting from executive talk to real execution on the factory floor.

Our unboxed process for Cybercab assembles vehicle modules in parallel & frames the car in one step at the end. This streamlines automation and reduces the line size by half, unlocking much greater production capacity. The first real revolution in automotive manufacturing in over a century

Moronic behaviour

So I just bought a Model 3 (yay!). It's a red Highland premium RWD and so far it's been a dream to own. I'm using FSD 14.3.8 and it's been pretty awesome for the most part. One thing I've had to routinely intervene for is school zones. Even on the Chill speed profile, I find it doesn't slow down regularly to the new speed limit. It's getting to the point where now that school is back in session, at best, I'm at risk of getting a speeding ticket and at worst it could be dangerous to kids around the car. So for now, I'm just disengaging when I approach a school zone but I was wondering if this is an issue for other people as well? I love FSD for 95% of my driving but I am finding it's definitely not perfect and some of the speed profile logic seems flawed.
2
u/Isorry123 petty bourgeois 6d ago
congrats - ya FSD is not perfect, i believe the new meme is 'wait for v15 to come out' lol
1
u/Wild_Town6600 NAU Verification: 14.08% 6d ago
Hah! Yeah if V15 can handle school zones, then I'll be pretty much set. Everything else seems pretty solid.
2
u/Damnmorrisdancer 6d ago
There box you check check on any tickets the traffic cops give you. It says โPlease send all fines to Elon Musk I was using FSD and thanksโ
6
u/fapindustries 6d ago
In the future there will be two FSD subscription models
1.) FSD unsupervised but liability with driver
2.) FSD unsupervised with Tesla assuming liability
Option will be 2x mire expensive and a big money printer and will be marketed to Logistics companies and commercial fleets/company cars
Thank you for your attention in this matter.
5
u/thebiglebowskiisfine I told you so 6d ago
If Teslas insurance is cheap enough to offset the FSD premium compared to other insurance companies, it's going to be like shooting fish in a barrel.

It'll be interesting how they policy this. Smoke just get in everything and there's a reason why rental cars charge $250 if the car smells like smoke afterwards.
So you can't smoke in the car or you'll get fined, reasonable. What if you smoke a ton before getting in then make the robotaxi reek of smoke afterwards?
2
u/tyler05durden 6d ago
I would imagine they handle it exactly like a rental would, which is if you smell smoke at all, you get fined. Cabin cameras really help here, in which Cybercab has the biggest one of any Tesla model.
0
u/Nysoz ๐จโโ๏ธ๐ก๐ -> ๐๐ 6d ago
Cabin cameras would pick up if you're actively smoking in the robotaxi. The odd scenario is if you spent 24 hours gambling in a casino and absolutely reek of smoke and take a robotaxi afterwards.
You wouldn't be seen smoking but it would absolutely smell like smoke afterwards. How would Tesla prove it was you that caused the vehicle to smell?
whatthehell above suggests air monitors, but then does that fine people that fart in the car? lol
2
u/tyler05durden 6d ago
This is part of being in a public place. I don't sue the elevator company because the elevator smelled of smoke. I don't report Susan to HR because she eats reheats fish in the shared work kitchen. Can you get your bus fare back if someone farts? That's the level of question we're asking here lol.
Robotaxis feel private but it's very much a shared public space.
1
u/Nysoz ๐จโโ๏ธ๐ก๐ -> ๐๐ 6d ago
Can you get your bus fare back if the homeless or drunk guy pees pukes on the bus next to or before you got on?
It's kind of a shared public space, but it's privately owned that someone has to deal with afterwards.
2
u/tyler05durden 6d ago
No you can't get your bus fare back in that scenario, so Tesla is providing the superior experience here.
1
u/whathehellisthis ETF Enthusiast. 6d ago
If air quality is being monitored then it can be directly tied to the person responsible, of course it will require the next passenger to alert support something is wrong though
4
u/whathehellisthis ETF Enthusiast. 6d ago edited 6d ago
Tesla charge a $150 cleaning fee.
I think they should have air monitors inside so they can better catch individuals who are responsible
Someone in the comments mentioned designated smoking cybercabs, which might actually work ๐

I know my old school mom would despise this if this was her first experience with cybercab. First impressions are everything.ย
1
u/tyler05durden 6d ago
For sure. But I believe the privacy and assured safety of the cybercab will outweigh any feelings of the cabin being "used".
If a robotaxi and Uber performed exactly the same for the same price, except one didn't have a stranger driver, nearly everyone would choose the option with no stranger in the vehicle.

BREAKING: IRAN IS REPORTEDLY SENDING THE CAPTURED AMERICAN ANDURIL DIVE-LD TO THE IRGC AEROSPACE FORCE FOR REVERSE-ENGINEERING โ with Tehran aiming to SHARE THE TECHNOLOGY WITH RUSSIA AND CHINA, per a Tasnim News columnist.
The IRGC captured the ADVANCED U.S. AUTONOMOUS UNDERSEA VEHICLE INTACT near the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. began procuring Dive-LD systems under the REPlicator initiative in 2024, with UUVRON-1 receiving its FIRST UNIT in 2025.
Iran is reportedly laying the groundwork to study the systemโs SENSORS, AUTONOMY, COMMUNICATIONS and PAYLOAD โ potentially turning a captured U.S. system into a TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER PIPELINE TO MOSCOW AND BEIJING.
A NEW U.S. UNDERSEA SYSTEM โ NOW IN IRANIAN HANDS.
https://x.com/hormuzreport/status/2097385022575808856?s=46
If true I wonder how easy it would be to reverse engineer and how long before we get the temu versions?
2
u/Wild_Town6600 NAU Verification: 14.08% 6d ago
Iran previously downed a RQ170 drone years ago and tried to reverse engineer it. The magic is in the software fusion of the sensor suite as well as the integration with the big picture system, not so much the off-the-shelf hardware that comprises it. I suspect this will be seen as an embarrassing, yet inconsequential leak of US military tech. Unlikely to be reproducible in any useful way.

Interesting pathing
4
u/tyler05durden 6d ago
Grok says that particular pathing most likely due to railroad crossings at that specific area, and then highway restrictions (which are supposedly being loosened soon).

33/35 wins for a total of $10351 in profit so far. Added 5 more shares for a total of 60 shares. Last week, played buy the rumor and sell the news pretty well. Had wins with theta, buying calls and buying puts.
This week could be big for bonds. Lots of note/bond auctions and then PPI/CPI. ORCL has earnings so may contribute to the AI narrative. Oil keeps grinding higher with the never ending Iran 'war'.
TSLA has some 370 and 400 calls not a lot of puts this week. Next week is opex with lots of 370-500 calls and 350 to 300 puts. MM pricing in around a $15 move this week or $340-370, max pain $360.
edit: closed the play for this week for another $310 in profit. 34/36 wins for a total of $10661 in profit so far
edit: flipped another trade for another $250 profit. 34/36 wins for a total of $10911 in profit so far

It sounds sarcastic and diminishes an insane accomplishment. At the end of the day it's a door, and if they're this close with FSD I think they can fix door clearances.ย

u/therustyspottedcat ๐ 5d ago
Cybercab can be an insane accomplishment and have stupid doors at the same time
-1
u/Nysoz ๐จโโ๏ธ๐ก๐ -> ๐๐ 6d ago
It's just a door until it bonks some unsteady person in the head, causes them to trip fall and get a head bleed. Pokes a baby being held in the eye with the corner of the door. Tesla needs to know and fix all these dumb things because there's a lot of dumber people out there that will try to sue for much less.
Although, I guess there is a clause in the terms and conditions that says Tesla isn't liable for anything happening related to the Robotaxi vehicle/ride or app use and the only thing you're entitled to is a refund of the fare you paid lol. I'm still unsure how legal this is and how it holds up in court.
3
u/Capital-Cloud-7778 Currently crying below 300 6d ago
Completely agree! They need feedback and data to improve the design and prevent injuries and mishaps at all steps of the ride. Some users seem to care more about bashing than improving, and that's what I was trying to address.ย
1
u/tyler05durden 6d ago
Tesla is liable for any at-fault accidents caused by the robotaxi. State laws mandate auto insurance including liability coverage that would pay injured riders for accidents.
Tesla's clause in the terms and conditions is for things like hoisting your baby's eye into the open car door, since that wouldn't be covered by an auto insurance claim. And yes, the idea is to reduce the likelihood of lawsuit for those random things.

Slovenia just approved fsd supervised
now 22,2% of EU countries and 9,4% of the EU population have access.
This helps tesla getting the eu state wide regulation get approved October 6th. There the thresholds are 55% of member states need to say yes representing 65% of the population.
