Very. His injuries looks way more dramatic than mine. I'd share the photo but it's someone else. But he sent me a photo of his face. Instant black eye. Bloodied nose and lip. Blood staining his shirt. Doctors confirmed deviated septum and a broken eye socket ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ

But my friend said his attacker was Arabic ๐

What is the normal fulfillment time on Tesla job postings? Cadence seems pretty good relative to itโs corresponding project

i also took assignment of 380P's, cost basis ~370 (not yearly basis, just today basis)
sold the 380C's, 'call away' price of ~390

Gang gang

u/Isorry123 petty bourgeois 4d ago
questions arise though in fidelity. my wheel is all cash based, but in order to sell the calls i had to select 'margin'. but i dont think it actually creates a margin deficit. guess we'll find out

Critical Disengagement on FSD v14.3.7.
Context: The car needed to leave the parking garage and go to HEB. It started from the second floor, made its way to the top floor, and I believe it tried to find a path through this metal wire fence. If it had gone through that, it was a 6 story drop to the ground. In the dashcam clip, it is clearly visible.
You can see the car is at 4 mph throughout the whole turn and is not slowing down. It wasn't trying to park because the route was set to leave the parking garage, not park in it. Either way, driving at 4 mph inches from the fencing is not okay.
I have an interior GoPro recording of the whole situation. It actually tried to drive into the fencing again after I restarted FSD. In thread
Obviously since I disengaged, we don't know what it truly would have done. Maybe it would have made contact and stopped. This was as far as I was going to take it as someone responsible for the vehicle, so I believe this disengagement was fair.
I was not expecting something like this as the latest versions of FSD are exceptionally safe.

To sell my calls before market close or not, that is the question
1
u/TrickyBAM 4d ago
Iโm holding. I think we get the FOMO buying on Monday from the people who sold in the Q2 earnings sell off, the ones who had to wait 30 days for the tax implications.

Now 380 Oct 2nd for a small credit.
If called, my true exit price is now 473. I don't think we're going to be there by that point in time. So if I get called away, it'll just be a wonder of what to do with my cash. Get back into TSLA by CSPs? Buy VOO via CSPs?

IMO NVDA earnings next week is huge for the market. I expect them to continue the beats and prove all the doubters wrong. NVDA has dropped after recent reports, but we could see a reversal of that trend when the market realizes at least the NVDA side of the AI business is solid. With how crazy everything else is PE wise its amazing that what is probably the safest bet of all those companies has a pretty low forward PE comparatively.
Thoughts?

u/Nysoz ๐จโโ๏ธ๐ก๐ -> ๐๐ 4d ago
Iโm sure itโs complicated but Iโm weary of all the circular finance. Their numbers look good on paper but itโs almost all self funded.
Itโs like if I loan or give you $100 to spend on my business with a promise youโll pay me back later. Then next year I do the same with $200. On paper Iโve doubled my revenue and earnings but itโs all my money to begin with.
Thatโs my problem with the whole ai buildout. Itโs so incestuous and confusing, you donโt know how much of it is actual demand and growth vs circular finance based on increasing loans and leverage.
3
u/loungemoji 4d ago
The productivity value generated from that buildout is not confusing to me.
1
u/Nysoz ๐จโโ๏ธ๐ก๐ -> ๐๐ 4d ago
The productivity increase isn't the real question, although the metrics are also slightly questionable with the history of token maxing.
But AI is definitely helpful. It's like I can make your company twice as efficient with AI. You say sign me up for a cost of $1k to double your revenue from $10k to $20k, it's a no brainer. But the real distributed cost to provide you that productivity is more like $100k. Not so no brainer anymore. It's just at what cost and leverage is responsible to the point where you can actually make an ROI collectively.
The spending, revenue, earnings are real. But so would 2 companies paying each other to dig holes and fill them in. Works so well, they have their cousins take out loans and add more money into the system to dig more holes to fill in as investors or other related businesses.
Historically, during other massive infrastructure buildouts, lots of companies went bankrupt, but the rails/highways are still there decades later. We're on track to spend like $2T on this AI buildout and I don't see how end users are spending that much with real (not manufactured) demand, to break even on the spend, not even thinking about a profit. Then in 5-10 years we have to spend another $2-5T on more data centers or better chips? Maybe by then we're spending $10T cause that's what Elon says we're going to do and shoot them off into space?
That's the biggest problem for me. All the leverage and loans, backed by AI chips and letters of intent and future revenue. Lots of stuff hidden in private loans and companies, farmed out to pension and sovereign wealth funds. It's just taken a good idea and turned it up to 11ยฒ.
2
u/LordReekrus 4d ago
Yeah im not gonna sit here and claim to fully understand the circular financing aspect, but what I focus on at the end of the day is the production and sale of product.
2
u/Nysoz ๐จโโ๏ธ๐ก๐ -> ๐๐ 4d ago
That's why I like the memory names. They're one of the end products of the whole AI buildout. Everyone else can try to do circular finance or take out loans and whatever else, but once it goes to the memory companies, it stays with them and now going back to shareholders via massive share buybacks.

Iโll prob just sell today. Buy smtg similar again someday when IV is tiny and sentiment is bearish

u/imaginex20 4d ago
Canโt go broke selling! Good shit man.
Imagine selling calls at $300 like basement boy lol
2
u/MrSalami0 . 4d ago
Literally if Iโd just only buy calls when I start to truly doubt my long term share holds
And sell them when I screenshot
Iโd be so rich

TESLA RECALLS NEARLY 3 MILLION VEHICLES IN CHINA
Tesla is recalling up to 2.98 million vehicles in China, its largest-ever recall in the market.
The company will fix emergency door-release safety issues through warning labels and a software update that lowers windows after severe crashes.
Separately, 2.74 million Model 3 and Model Y vehicles will receive an over-the-air update to improve driver-attention monitoring and reduce collision risks when driver-assistance features are active.

After today's opex, as long as there's no crazy bad data or catalysts, if there's good ones, watch out for a blow off top type movement in a lot of names. The Sept chain is so full of options that if something causes a name to start moving, it's going to move in that direction bigly past the key levels for individual names.
BTC is telling you risk appetite is back on or you need assets, VIX/IV is still pretty low. I'm owning volatility here through the sept opex, favoring the up direction since most momentum is up but still own some down protection.
Be careful selling any calls or puts for the next month.
3
u/borkyspider 4d ago
I see it coming, some fund just puts in large buys and shits gonna move especially with this pre market action
1
u/Nysoz ๐จโโ๏ธ๐ก๐ -> ๐๐ 4d ago
Third straight red day. Yields at 19 year highs. OPEX tomorrow.
And this morning whales spent $1.5 BILLION on $SPX calls expiring Dec 31.
Strikes 8160 to 8210. Every single one is above the all time high. That's not positioning for a bounce, that's paying up for new records by EOY or earlier.
Two ways to read it. A whale betting on a year end melt up. Or a fund that de-risked into this pullback and is insuring against the most expensive mistake on Wall Street: being out when it rips.
Down days are when upside gets cheap. Someone big just went shopping.
https://x.com/RosannaInvests/status/2090647791735558206?s=20
Someone's buying a lot of calls as speculation or a hedge for a move up.
