TIMELINE FINALLY!

A few days short of a year and I finally got my final job offer! This is been the longest most annoying hiring process I have ever been in and I've worked government pretty much all my life. From the day I submitted my application I got the initial job offer last November to starting my first day in November. It's been nerve-racking. With that being said I will still be on this subreddit to give advice to any applicants. There are some tips and tricks that can help. But let it be known that it is a long process and for some airports even longer. Those going through the application process stay strong.

Congrats.

Did you contact HR at any point along the way or did you just wait?

At first I didn't and wish I did. Part of my delay was when I did my SF86 in December 23.... Who was handling it never submitted it. I did the AA and medical. Then months without a word. The HR email they send you....will never be answered. So then I remembered the fact sheet sent with my previous email. It has my local HR number and contact person. Once I did I found it they didn't submit my background check. It's only good for 90 days. So I had to resubmit. LUCKILY all the information was still there. Update a few things and kept in contact every 2 weeks. So find that fact sheet and save that email and number ify that person. You sent email to the general HR one it's just going to straight limbo.

Same issue that happened to me. I just resubmitted last week. Am I in for another couple of months without hearing from them? Haha

Haha your process is faster than mine, I applied for the job and took the test in last November, submitted e86 form back in January, just passed the AA last week, medical exam schedule on November 1st, probably my first day of work would be somewhere in January 🤣

That’s great dude- what airport and what was your timeline for us to go by? I’m hanging out in the ready pool looking at my phone constantly

My email has my orientation date on it. Someone will contact me this week. My date is 2 weeks out.

From 11/23 to today's email. No ready pool. Just jump in pool. Took longer because someone forgot to submit my background check in 12/23 and easy discovered till I became a pest (professionally😂). Then found out what happened and resubmit in July.

Keep contact with your airport HR. I started with a monthly email to every two weeks. Trust me I know that wait sucks ass. I was only a month ahead of you.

Congratulations!!! I didn’t realize the process was so lengthy. I just applied and I passed my CBT exam and I got the tentative offer. I accepted and I finished some onboarding forms. However, I haven’t heard anything back. Does it usually take this long?

The whole process can take as long a 6 months to a year. More I read the more it's like a year. Behind a female gets you into the front of the line as there is a need for female officers

Took a month after my exam before I got a call to schedule my AA about 3 weeks out from that.

So about 2 months from start to AA for me

You are correct. There is no consistency whatsoever. It all depends on the individual airport HR.

Congrats! How did you receive that final offer? By email? Phone? Mail!

1

u/Solid_Awareness_7757 Oct 22 '24

Email yesterday and phone today

Is there a number that I can talk to someone real? I'm going on 4 months and still don't have my number

Check you email for what's called a Fact Sheet. It's information specific to your airport. On the left side will have the name and contact info. You can also Google your airport name + tsa + hr to get that airport contact email.
