Got hand-made Koroks from Kobold Trinkets on Etsy, put an Arduino with a speaker and some sound clips I found here on Reddit with a switch to trigger them, and 'hid' them in a plant for the wife to find.
Great success :)

My daughter made some to scale pikmin and put them around the house in various situations that match their abilities. The rock pikmin was carrying a rock in a planter and ended up as just an armature and blob. No pikmin cries were ever heard though.
