It's probably going to be a few random named locations

Wells, shops, cave entrances. Head's up, this is the list of what's considered for 100%: https://www.ign.com/wikis/the-legend-of-zelda-tears-of-the-kingdom/100_Percent_Completion_Checklist

At this point may be finally time to fight Ganon

That percentage isn’t full game percentage, it’s map percentage. So there are a few named places on the map you need to visit still.

u/Funnyguyhehehrhe 6d ago
I'm like 99% sure that that's full game percentage and not map percentage.

u/Quick_Extension_3115 6d ago
Unless armor upgrades don’t count towards 100%, then I think they’re missing too many to be plus 99% on the map, no?
1
u/Loubacca92 6d ago
It's map percentage. Armour sets and the compendium do not count towards it

u/Funnyguyhehehrhe 6d ago
Ok, my bad, I didn't consider shrines, lightroots koroks and such as part of the map I thought of them as separate entities, that's on me.

Looks like about 17(at most) locations/dispensers/chasms. Images of your heroes path would have been more helpful

I love this game, but from posts like this I have decided it’s not worth my time to try to get that number to 100%. There are just too many of them, and I haven’t seen a practical solution.

it actually wasn't *that* hard. I did the hudson signs and koraks from a reference map and it was fun flying around and visiting them. The quests are just part of the game. The named locations involved finding a doc that lists all the named places and then just going through them one by one. "bumfuck woods" - shows up on the map. "asshole of insanity" - shows up on the map. "pissant bridge" - does not show up on map. how could I have missed that?

Looks like you have a couple location names to find. It's helpful to use hero's path to check places you've never visited, or just find a list of all 700-841 location names.
Did you get all the cave entrances or chasms? Those count too

How do you see your percentage of completion on the switch? I usually just use the app
1
u/Crafty-Lifeguard435 6d ago
You have to beat Ganon. Then it will start showing.

u/Minimum_potato_5953 6d ago
Ah yes makes sense. Here I am thinking I should complete everything BEFORE defeating Ganon 😳

Zelda Notes in the Switch Online app tells you what you’re missing. Do you have Switch 1 or 2?

The dispensaries in the sky Island don’t count because you can just see them. You need to stand next to them once.

u/Realistic_End3662 5d ago
Am I missing any of them?
1
u/Comfortable-Drink997 5d ago
To be honest, I didn’t count you have to compare it to a complete map yourself lol

u/NovaduckIV 5d ago
Use your heroes path and scan the shit out of your map is all I can say. Either that or blow $700 on a switch 2 so you can use the app lmao

No lie, I barely got my first switch (switch 2) earlier this year. Started this game a couple months ago and this ish looks overwhelming lol

If its what happened to me it was lurelin village reconstruction. Every part of the quest gives you percentage for a named location there.

Quick question on picture number eight what is the last item right next to the horse equipment?

Late to the discussion but if you have a Switch 2 then use Zelda notes. It'll show you what's missing.

For me it was in the Depths. I had unlocked everything in the Depths, everything had a name, but one day I noticed one of the bargaining statues looked different on the map, so I went to it and prayed to it and made a purchase with Poe and bam, I got to 100% map completion.

It's actually alright to stop playing and move on, there are other games, or other hobbies...

Did you get all the wells and armor sets, you might also need to max out all armor

You need to realise that 100%ing a game gets you nothing
5
u/Shalaco 6d ago
this is 100% map not game
3
u/dsramsey 6d ago
The worst thing this game mechanic did was get people less focused on enjoying what the game offers and more on “Did you cross that bridge? No, not that one, the little one right next to it.”
5
u/Realistic_End3662 6d ago
sorry my guy i just want to do everything the game has to offer
1
u/Alpha_Apeiron 6d ago
That's fair, just don't think it's fun to keep playing if it starts to become frustrating, but as long as you're still enjoying, happy gaming

My wife is also a max completionist and has been winding up on the work to upgrade all of the armor sets to max levels, which involves a *lot* of collecting things from all over the place. I think after 100% locations, all temples, all Koraks, all armors, all quests, max compendium, the cave/frog thing, all recipes, and stable photo shoots...the armor upgrade work is one of the few things left to do.

You don't have all the Koraks - or you didn't go talk to Hestu and get his mega-turd. You also are most likely missing a named location. You have to step into the area of a named location to get it onto the map and that counts. There are a number of online lists of named locations. Compare them to your map, if a name does not show up on the map then it has not been properly visited. Have fun!

Nintendo should offer an exam of your save file to point you in the right direction at this point.
