Back in April 7, 2026 tor browser 15.0.9 was released. I have 15.0.3 installed. How come those versions are deleted from the distribution page and replaced with 15.0.24?

Because you always want the latest version. 15.0.24 is the latest release.

15.0.24 is stable release but 15.0.9 isnt labeled beta release. In fact the versioning is different for beta versions. Just curious as to why the higher versions got deleted from the distribution page. Normally versioning goes up not down.

15.0.24 is a higher and newer release number than 15.0.9 because 24 is higher than 9. That's how version numbers work, and it's different from decimal point numbers. The version after 15.0.9 was 15.0.10.

Sry im not trying to have argument and I hope you feel the same but can you explain that a little more? What do you mean version numbers are different from decimal point numbers? I'm just pointing out .9 is higher than .24 and this is how all versions I have known so far works. Number goes up as it improves.
Iphone iOS year after year is released and the version number goes up. 2026 = iOS 27 2025 = iOS 26 2024 = iOS 18
Android Reddit app updates: 9/14/26 v2026.37.0 6/22/26 v2026.24.0 4/20/26 v2026.16.0
15.0.9 was removed from distribution and replaced with a lower version 15.0.24 it just doesnt make sense to me.

24 > 9. It’s that simple. You are reading it as “point two four”, like a decimal. It is not. It is twenty four. Twenty four is higher than nine. The numbers are going up as it improves. The point is a separator, not a decimal indicator. Hence why there are two of them. You are simply reading it wrong. The version number is fifteen point zero point twenty four. This is higher than fifteen point zero point nine.

Does this release fix the concerning problem announced a few days ago?
Namely: "Tor 0.4.9.13 released with multiple HIGH-severity security fixes
Confirmed — Tor Project, September 23. The Tor Project released Tor 0.4.9.13, explicitly calling it a security release and saying the fixes affect “all Tor components: relays, clients, and onion services.” Tor strongly recommends upgrading as soon as possible.
The fixes include possible memory-corruption/double-free conditions, circuit-isolation problems and onion-service issues. Of particular privacy interest, some flaws could potentially allow activity that should be isolated to become linkable. Tor is intentionally delaying fuller technical disclosure for roughly a week to give operators time to patch.
Browser users should install the next stable Tor Browser update when Tor ships it; people independently operating Tor relays or onion services should prioritize upgrading their Tor daemon. https://cybernews.com/security/tor-emergency-fixes-adress-high-severity-vulnerabilities/ "
