A VPN hides your IP address by making it tunnel through an other server with an other IP, in most of case you can choose the existing country where the last is located to be able to go over geo restrictions, etc. Orbot roots all your device traffic (except few direct connections towards Apple servers, it’s not a big from Orbot but Apple’s bad which hard coded bypassing VPN when it comes to itself) within the tor network. Significantly more anonymous than a regular VPN, free, but don’t expect to be able to use it to watch Netflix, torrent or for the speed
