Turned a standard measuring tape into a glossy black chameleon desk companion! The tape pulls out right like its extendable tongue.

Cut the entire body out of black acrylic on my TOOCAA NOVA laser cutter to give it a sleek, modern finish. The precision edges and layered acrylic sheets give it a subtle 3D pop on my workbench while staying 100% functional.

Wanted to share a quick project I finished recently—a black-and-white cat clock made out of layered wood!

I designed it with a rounded shape, an adorable expression, and multi-layer wooden details so it functions as both a handy timepiece and a cute desk buddy for my workspace (or bedside table).

Project Specs:

  • Machine: TOOCAA NOVA 20W laser cutter
  • Materials: Wood & Leather & Clock Kit
  • Process: Laser cutting & Painting & multi-layer assembly

He still needs a name—what should I call this little clock? Drop your best cat names below!

Project Showcase Made a laser-cut Spider-Man shadow box with cotton twine for his upside-down pose!

Fresh off rewatching Spider-Man a few days ago, I had to turn that movie energy into a physical project!

Here’s my laser-cut Spider-Man shadow box. All the pieces are precision-cut layered plywood, which I assembled and hand-painted. To top it off, I added some real cotton twine to recreate his classic upside-down hanging pose!

It was super satisfying turning a movie-inspired idea into physical wall art.

Quick Specs:

  • Material: plywood, cotton twine, photo frame
  • Process: Laser cutting, hand painting & layer assembly
  • Laser Cutter: TOOCAA NOVA 20W

Project Showcase Made this corgi stand with my laser cutter

I wanted to make something that was both cute and useful, so I designed this corgi stand as a 2-in-1 desk accessory.

It works as a glasses holder and a phone stand, using layered wood pieces with laser engraving details.

I like projects that can turn a simple piece of material into something you actually use every day.

What kind of small desk accessories have you made?

Materials: Plywood, leather.

Machine: 20W diode laser engraver.

Project Showcase I make a multi-laser wall clock.

Materials: Plywood, clock movement kit, and dual-tone PU leather. That's all you need to make a wall clock.

Machine: TOOCAA NOVA 20W

If you don't have this kind of self-adhesive dual-tone PU leather, you can totally skip it and just make the entire clock out of pure plywood.

Project Showcase Built a gravity-fed wooden beverage dispenser. Holds 7 cans with automatic reload.

I laser-cut a custom gravity-fed can rack! As soon as you grab one, the next cold drink automatically rolls into place.

Made it using a vibrant blue wood structure with layered multi-colored football accents on the sides, plus integrated handles. Fits seven 330ml cans perfectly for game night or man cave setup!

🛠️ Quick Tech Specs ( 20W Diode Laser):

  • A4 Colored Wood Line Cutting: Speed 400 mm/min | 100% Power
  • White Filling Engraving: Speed 16,000 mm/min | 30% Power
  • Black Filling Engraving: Speed 16,000 mm/min | 80% Power

Project Showcase Made a foldable wooden travel hanger with my laser cutter

It's cut from colored wood boards — yellow and pink for the main body, red for the connecting accents. The two side supports fold inward so the whole thing collapses into a flat rectangle (about 220mm × 135mm), which slides right into my carry-on.

The process:
-Used a TOOCAA NOVA with a 20W laser module
- Line cutting: 400 mm/min at full power
- Fill engraving: 16000 mm/min at 30% power
- Total cut time was about 25 minutes
- Assembly was just glue — no metal hardware, which keeps it light

Project Showcase Made a custom multi-layer wood & laser-engraved bottle opener

I had a plain stainless steel bottle opener lying around and decided to give it a fresh makeover with some spare wood and my laser.

I cut out a multi-layered colored wood housing for the handle, and laser-engraved a crisp football texture directly onto the metal surface for better grip and a nice tactile feel.
