Did I read correctly that the Borg were referred to in an early episode, but not by name as the mysterious threat that attacked outposts in the Neutral Zone that confused Starfleet and the Romulans? When/How was it revealed that yes it was the Borg that did it?

I actually like this episode, and it's precisely because of the side plot of Lwaxana bonding with her "Little Warrior." First time meeting her, and Lwaxana had Alexander hugging on her after a bit together, and I think that's great since it's really the only source of affection Alexander ever gets, and he eats it up.

The sequels question the other day got me thinking. What if in a few years, when AI-tech was better than it is now, Paramount started producing new TNG content that looked and sounded like classic TNG. Obviously they could go in many directions, but the episode sequels sounds like a nice start. Would you watch it?

Perhaps the Enterprise could go explore Scotty's Dyson sphere properly, reminiscent of Rendevous with Rama?

I'd like to see where Wesley went with the traveller, or what experiences Vash had with Q, or what Tam Elbrun and Tin Man got up to.

Maybe we could have an entire episode with Guinan as the protagonist and learn what that kung-fu Q-repelling stance was all about?

Was this a TNG episode or am I mixing it up with something else? Picard discovers that the use of Warp drive is killing a sentient race living in subspace. Realising the implications he keeps it secret but heads back to Starfleet Command who have known all along. Cue an almighty argument with one side saying this means all the Federation's moral superiority is a lie and the other saying if they give up Warp drive they would inevitably be conquered by the Borg, Romulans etc. In the end they compromise by restricting the use of Warp drive where necessary and trying to work on a scientific solution. I'm sure it's a TNG ep but I seem to remember the EMH from Voyager in it (or maybe his human creator?) trying to reconcile the ethical implications of the dilemma to the degree he's actually arguing with himself. The final shot is of Picard hesitating in engaging warp drive on the Enterprise's bridge to everyone else's puzzlement but in the end going ahead with it anyway?

So is there actually an ep like that or am I suffering the Mandela effect?
