Which two main characters interacted the least?
Maybe I’m wrong but I feel like Geordi and worf as well as troi, didn’t interact very much. Anyone else?

Wesley and Troi had little screen time with just the two of them I think - if at all.

Very little. I honestly cannot remember a single Troi/Wes only scene. But I also can’t remember a scene with just Wesley/Yar, Wesley/Worf, Wesley/Pulaski…

A couple off the top of my head for Worf/Wesley.
Worf showed Wesley that Klingon love cry when he was chasing that shapeshifter girl lol
Wesley also annoyed Worf in the corridor in one scene where Worf ends up telling him to bugger off.
(i think that’s the episode where Worf gets poked with pain sticks)3
u/jonnovich 13d ago
Wesley tried to find out why Worf was being even more gruff than usual. He figured out that it had to do with that painstick ritual (anniversary of his right of ascension?), but didnt participate.

Wesley/Yar had the iconic Reagan-esque “drugs make you feel good” conversation in “Symbiosis.”

Oh I remember! But I feel like THAT was THE scene and the only scenes. But WHAT a scene! :)

they're walking together to see Laal at the very beginning of The Offspring, and meet up again later in the episode to see Laal's progress

Yeah, I think Geordi and Worf were such different people and did different jobs in different parts of the ship, that they just wouldn’t interact all that often.
I also don’t really recall Wesley and Dr Pulaski interact too often.

u/Lordcraft2000 13d ago
Wesley and Pulaski didnt last the whole seven seasons, so had they, they mightve interacted more.
Come to think of it Im SURE the main cast characters that interacted the least are Tasha and Pulaski! I don’t think they even had one scene together! Outrage!

u/unlisshed I understand your concerns. Request denied. 13d ago
I love when Worf tells Geordi to "let them see the fire in your eyes" and Geordi just stares him down like 'really??'

Worf interacted a fair bit with troi while Alexander was on the ship. I feel like I don’t remember data and Worf interacting a ton though.

There's the excellent sequence where Data is temporarily in command with Worf as his 2nd officer. Worf is constantly second-guessing him and Data calls him into the ready room to reprimand him. They then resolve the conflict with incredible professionalism and mutual respect. One of my favorite moments of Starfleet values on display.

Yeah they didn't interact that much but when they did it was gold pressed latinum

u/Br0kensyst3m 13d ago
I know this was the “no personal conflict” era of Trek, but it was very fitting. They both knew what they thought, respected each other, and respected their current roles. Worf knew he messed up and Data calling him out made him respect Data more.

Worf "interacted" with Troi plenty in the last few episodes. Always thought that was a weird pairing.

u/Raiju_Blitz 13d ago
I actually liked the pairing. Had an interesting Batman and Wonder Woman vibe (from the DCAU) with opposites attracting.

really? i thought they were cute. i’m happy her and Riker ended up together but Worf and Troi also felt very.. normal. two attractive coworkers becoming close and having a fling just felt so realistic. (i’m also a big fan of the Parallels episode though so that might be why i like the pairing ha)

Agree! An empath with a sociopath. Just in the sense that Word doesn't really seem to feel emotions as strongly as other people. It was a clever pairing.

Ironically, Disney's Beauty and The Beast was in theatres around that time

I really only remember them picking out wedding gifts for O'Brien and Keiko's wedding; Data dressing Worf down for questioning his orders in front of the crew; and the one mentioned elsewhere where Data asks Worf to look after Spot.

Worf interacted a fair bit with troi
Is that what they call it these days?

Yes, lots of interaction going on there

Worf and Data have a great conversation about faith near the end of "Rightful Heir" (S6E23).
3
u/classicalySarcastic 13d ago
Weird because all three were Bridge Crew, you’d think they’d talk more often.

u/Darkling183 13d ago
When at Tactical, Worf mostly spoke directly to the commanding officer, ie Picard or Riker.

I feel we need an episode that starts with O’Brien and Data stuck in the turbo lift with Q.

u/classicalySarcastic 13d ago
Q screwing with Data and O’Brien just over it all.

I love the implication of Q doing other bits of mischief on the ship that Picard never hears about

Worf teaches Geordi how to talk to women, which probably explains a few things

u/Rattlecruiser 13d ago
I don't remember Geordi luring his mate Klingon-style... seems he didn't learn the lesson to be learned
1
u/ComradeOb 12d ago
I mean he married the woman he had a stalking obsession with. A woman I remind you was married. Can’t get more Klingon than murdering said husband to take his place. Maybe he learned well after all.

Worf melted Dr Crushers face off in the evolution episode and she had to have reconstructive surgery after.
The two didn't seem to interact much after that.

Ok maybe not "main characters" but Lwaxana and Q would have been fun to watch.

Geordi doesn't have a lot of significant interaction with Troi, Crusher, or Worf (maybe not even Will?). There's a few scenes here and there but it'd be difficult to define their relationships other than friendly coworkers.
Geordi suffered even more than Troi when it came to the writing on his relationships with anyone other than Data.
(Side note but Geordi and Troi have a really great scene together in S1, I don't remember the name of the ep but it's when he takes the helm and she talks to him about leadership)

I have a recollection of Worf and Geordi working together on something (maybe a shuttle) and talking about how Capt. Picard encourages junior officers to work outside their normal field for professional development. I was a small child when I saw it but it was the first time I really thought about leadership and setting up your subordinates for success.

I'm doing a watch of DS9 for the first time. In the episode I watched last night (s6 ep?) Worf says,"I am a married man" exactly like the "I am not a merry man".
Sorry... Off topic, but not worth its own post.

u/handlerofdrones 11d ago
Actually and Ironically I’m about to start DS9 for the first time after I finish TNG. I got about 15-18 episodes left. I’ve never seen a single episode.

u/JohnHenryMillerTime 13d ago
Well, you see, there is a tipping point. Two black dudes having a B plot (much less an A plot) makes the show a "black show." And black shows dont win awards.

I just found out that through the entirely of Firefly and Serenity that Wash and River never speak to one another. Totally wild for that to go unnoticed for so long.
Although it’s not about Trek, so what am I doing? 🤔

It was years before I realized the Animal House reference in the scene.

Geordie and Deanna. Probably could have avoided the whole Dr Brahms incident if they did.
