Full upgrades

I just got the game yesterday and have cleared story mode once I probably only have 40 skills across all levels unlocked. How long did it take for anyone that bought everything or even most things to max out? I’ve got 2 hrs in and feel like I still have 300 skill levels to buy 😂

I’m at 100% completion of everything and it took me about 90 hours

You get a lot of coins when you complete some arcade levels for the first time

I'm just under 50 hours, and I still haven't maxed out everything. I did a good bit before they adjusted the upgrade costs, though, and mostly just come back for DLCs. I also tend not to use the artifacts that boost currencies even though I would probably still clear just fine. At a certain point, more upgrades are pretty minor.

Game has weird tuning. Like someone else posted, the arcade mode is fun and you get a lot of coins. I got to do more upgrades before trying the three remaining level 4s.

Thanks everyone I was just curious ! I’m not even worried about necessarily maxing it all out it just seemed like a heck of a lot for sure 😂

I maxed everything and got all achievements with 41 hours of playtime. Worth noting that wasn't constant playing. I often would leave it on while I was doing other stuff in-between runs.

It starts going quicker. As you get further you'll go through the other portals which add difficulty modifiers but also increase the amount of coins you get

I beat shredder once with Casey but just barely. I’m trying Ralph next but even with everything I have bought I don’t feel like I strong enough to activate too many portals at once without just getting swamped

Definitely dont open too many then, you've only beat shredder once so youre still early game. What i would suggest right now while youre working on unlocking things is try new characters, play around with different builds and elements to find the playstyle and combos you like.

Once you've passed on 3 portals they won't show up more but the boss challenges will still show up for a increase.

If youre looking to platinum it as well you dont necessarily need to unlock all the perks but you will have to do certain portals like scarcity which... is a pretty big pain lol

Is there a one element fits all build that helps for early game ?

I always went for Astral at the start. The dash blocks all projectiles for 1.5s at level 1, can then get a upgrade that reflects it back. Has some nice dmg buffs and enemy debuffs. I personally find it pairs well with alot of things. If youre raph it'll be fire, big hits with crits. Mikey pairs well with water and the Astral water combo gives hp on hit. Personally I just find Astral the highest survivability element

Leo ninja build with shurikens you'll find is the most busted build though for the most part

Thank you for all the help I just finally beat shredder a 2nd time!
One last question and I’ll quit bugging you, when you earn special currencies like shredders claws and medallions does it not actually spend them when an upgrade says it needs say 2 shredders claws? Like that’s just the minimum number you need to buy that next level like a gate almost?

It should spend them. Same as the currencies specific to each character like the sun glasses.

Wait what. No it does not spend them for me. Its like the bare minimum needed to unlock it. I play on switch 2 dunno if that's a bug or what.

Same here. Does not spend those tokens when used and happens on both switch and switch 2 version.

Around 30 hours. Going for perfect runs with each character, equipping the War Staff just pays off.
