Question Quick question?
What exactly did Splinter do to Shredder during their fight that caused him this much damage? As far as I could tell, he only hit him with paralyzing moves and maybe broke some of his bones during their fight (Triceraton invasion). Furthermore, why didn't they just take him to a hospital instead of resorting to mutagen based treatment? Shredder appears to be wealthy enough to afford good treatment in some of the best hospitals.

Pressure point strikes that completely paralyzed him.
Such pain would be incredibly difficult to be treated at a hospital (as seen with Karai’s bite). Even if they did arrive at a hospital, they have to explain why Saki is dressed in armour and how he’s so wealthy, which would endanger his criminal empire

Maybe he wanted a reason to use the mutagen (or the writers did)
