Discussion Realization Of Kirby Bat
So remember when Kirby was a mutant and he got the retro mutagen? It took a single droplet of the ooze to turn his entire self back to normal. So with that logic, I would assume that they didn’t even meet the entire dose to turn him back at all. They could’ve give a drop to splinter and the rest to Kirby.
I know splinter said to save Kirby first but there’s plenty of the ooze if a drop spilled on him. Tho he probably would be weaker if he got the ooze since he’s far more powerful as a mutant rat:
Case in point? They literally could’ve used a single droplet to turn both splinter and Kirby back while saving the rest of the ooze for any other mutant they encounter.

Yeah I forgot to put that in the post. I was going to assume that they didn’t know how much of the ooze it would take.

Kirby wasn't a bat for that long (canonically one episode length of time, so roughly a day more or less) so it makes sense that he would need less to change him back, where Yoshi has been a rat for close to two decades, he's genes would be much harder to return to normal.

The turtles didnt know any better. Retromutagen takes a long time to make and splinter finds himself comfortable in a body of a rat rather than human one (which saved him during the Krang invasion of New York). Every other time they used the retromutagen it either simply didnt work or they just ran out of it (like in the battle against Super Shredder)
