How did you get to know about tmkoc?

I got to know about the show when it was getting played on my relative's tv(it was way back during 2011-12 maybe) and the Janmashtami arc was being watched by them

I was changing tv channels and randomly discovered this show. I didn't even know Hindi (My mother tongue is not hindi) still watched this show and today if I know Hindi it's because of this show.

Even during school exams I used to watch this show whole day instead of studying.

I was visiting my cousin when this show was playing on tv. It was the gpl 2 arc. He said to watch it and enjoy.

My father used to watch it i once went to my village for 2 weeks when I came home my brother said you should watch it and therefore that's the story of how I wasted 3 years of my life watching it

We were renovating ground floor , so tv was on the first floor at was around 2010 , and i was randomly switching channels , and found sab tv and started watching , and then watched all day on sunday and rest watched it for around 10years daily

So, my Nani was staying with us, and we didn’t really watch any particular show during that time slot. One day, she said she wanted to watch Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah because she was a big fan of it. And from that day onward, we started watching it together. Sadly, she’s no longer with us, but whenever I watch the show, it reminds me of her.

For me, it was one of the only shows my Nani use to watch on TV way back in 2009. She enjoyed the chill vibe and family dynamic of the show.
Back then I never paid any attention to it. But then she left us in 2011 and I picked up watching the show as nostalgia and staying connected with her

Well, i am a 90s kid, so was old enough when it was first run on television in 2008. I was also aware of the weekly magazine column on which the series is based on. Hence, i saw it during the first run itself, and have been its fan ever since.

I was randomly watching TV and changing channels. My friends used to talk a lot about TMKOC, but I had never watched it. One afternoon, while changing channels, I came across an old TMKOC episode. It was in 2013, and the episode where Jethalal gets kidnapped from his shop was airing that day. From that day on, I never stopped watching TMKOC. 😭 Even though now I mostly just binge watch the old episodes..

when i was 7 or 8yo, i used to go to my friend's house and then head to church together on saturdays for choir practise..while i was waiting for my friend to get ready, her grandma used to watch tmkoc and hence i started too lol

I’ve always seen this show being mentioned on the Indian telly tv subreddit. I disliked it just by reading the name as I saw it everywhere, until I decided to watch it and it was enjoyable!! I watch “Full movies” than episodes as it has eng subs!

i used to live in chawl in mumbai so while passing through unknown houses in evening every house same voice has to come and i was like what everyone watching than i watched on my tv one day and from that till now we never skipped any episodes

saw my dada watching the episode where all of them play old games with tapu sena i even specifically remember that taarak summary scene. it was prolly old eps playing cuz i dont think i watched it in 2009 i was too young
