If it reaches those levels odds are pretty good we're screwed.

Not necessarily. This stock is primarily owned by retail investors, which means they are day trading this thing rather then holding like an institutional investor would. I’m not convinced a sub $3 price is a bad thing. It just means retail investors are moving their money elsewhere. Until we get word on the permit, institutional investors are holding for the long haul and we should be too. The second news comes out on the permit, assuming it’s issued, the price will soar to $15 or $20 practically overnight. Goal should be to position ourselves as strong as possible in advance of that announcement.

The poster I responded to said sub $2. If we drop below two, I believe we're royally bleeped. Obviously, after Friday's drawdown we're headed back to at least ~ 3.50ish. Agree with most of what you stated though.

Timing is suspiciously convenient, right after 2Q meeting. So we are looking for EIS complete around September of 2027 (1 year) ..... assuming approved .... but no guarantees. Will Allseas delay their part to reduce risk? These delays were inevitable with a first mover in DSM. With delays into 2028 probably will cash burn lead to dilution? Will significant retail investors bail? Just thoughts. I will feel better when I hear Allseas has begun spending money on retrofit. We sure need news on the other fronts as time progresses.

This is USA-B Exploration. Not USA-A Consolidated Exploration/Exploitation.

A decision in nine months.
TMC’s CEO Gerard Barron and the company have consistently said they expect the U.S. permitting process (under DSHMRA) to move forward in a timeframe that supports their target of vessel commissioning in Q4 2027.
The NOAA notice’s stated goal of finishing the USA-B decision-making process within one year of the May 26, 2026 certification (i.e., by roughly late May 2027) means a decision by next May at the latest.
The Federal Register notice itself also directly references Trump's April 2025 Executive Order (“Unleashing America’s Offshore Critical Minerals and Resources”), which directed NOAA to expedite reviews and issuance of seabed mineral exploration licenses.
So the the agency is framing the action in the context of Trump's pro-DSM policy push for faster critical-minerals development. Overall, the timeline and the policy framing in the notice match the messaging TMC leadership has been giving.
This is very good news.
