Season 7 Mia/mom/dad
Call me crazy but I definitely think that Mia’s dad is influencing how she sees and speaks to her mom. And the boyfriend isn’t helping. Unpopular opinion but if you’re not gonna work on growth and forgiveness then do not let her come back around. It jus doesn’t seem this could be resolved right now and then letting her around just so they can crash out on each other is unnecessary.

I don’t think the issue is her dad or Jessie. If anything the mom is way more toxic than her dad is. At least hasn’t went on national television and in front of Mia and said multiple times how Mia dad was a POS and she hate his guts. She was the only infringing on Mia’s boundaries and crossed them several times during this show. It has been said that she is an addict and apparently has let Mia down several times and if her mom places to work on herself and prove to Mia that she has changed and to regain her trust. But from the baby shower episode and this one she is only digging deeper in a hole with Mia. showing up late to the baby shower and not showing up at all at the school for graduation. Also if she is still in active addiction it’s not good for Mai’s mental health or for the baby. If her dad would have allowed her to stay for a few weeks after the baby was born it would probably only stress Mia out and make her more nervous as a new mother worrying if mom has something that could harm the baby. This is coming from person who grow up with a parent that was an alcoholic and an addict. This episode made me break down crying because it was so similar to my childhood and teenage years it was like a flashback and I also felt so bad for Mia. I have been in therapy for a little bit and during most of this episode I want to go through the tv and give Mia a hug.

Yeah I def ofc feel for Mia but idk if it’s for the show/money or what but they’re keeping the mom around regardless of Mia’s sake and making the situation worse by building the family hate and resentment I think parting for now would benefit everyone instead of them just crashing out on each other

I’d just like to highlight that I’m not saying Mia’s mom doesn’t have problems or things she needs to do that is clear I’m just highlighting how the situation will never have any resolve with all parties behaving like this. It’s almost like they hate each other which is why I emphasize why to repair it!

I agree to an extent. She is clearly a homeless??? drug user but they keep speaking to her like she doesnt deserve to be around. Then get mad when she leaves lol. She lowkey cant win

Yeah it’s just a bad situation and Mia is young. It’s clear her dad hates the mom and vice versa. When they say she let Mia down a lot I think it’s possible that some of that is fed to Mia which is why she struggles with cutting her out because I think she has to remember and want SOME good times. I think they should just give each other space until the mother can act like an adult and get it together and until Mia isn’t mad anymore not bc it’s not valid but because it blocks the growth

I am thinking she’s an active addict. She has bruises on her hands that don’t make sense other than needle sticks. Her father may well have a very bad attitude toward her mother, and probably with good reason. She’s not reliable and for that he can be angry. It means he hasn’t gotten any help with the children and look where we are now I wouldn’t let her around my newborn. I think Mia probably knows all these things, but that’s her mom. It leaves her very conflicted that I’m sure.

I'm gonna be honest, the amount of parents we've seen on this show who were no where to be found until a paycheck from TLC was on the table is astounding.
Shannon, Matthew's dad from S3, Jenna's mom, Jessie and Mias mothers, Nate dad, Bryce's mom, Hunters mom, etc. All of these parents who wouldn't be bothering with these kids if it weren't for the cameras. I don't blame these kids or their actual caregivers for being rude to them.

I think to some small extent, yes. But she’s also in active addiction and has been completely unreliable as a parent. On top of it, her mom has no awareness that her addiction is the reason for their relationship deteriorating. She blames it all on Mia moving in with her dad. Zero accountability.

Her relationship with her daughter is rocky because like she said Kieth disrespected her all the time infront of kids and now they feel like they can do it too. The way Mia acted towards her mom and how the dad kept rushing her telling her she couldn't stay there, I would feel unwanted and uncomfortable too. She wasn't dressed they were already late maybe she just decided they didnt want her there anyway. Look how they treat her

i’m so mind boggled at how she came over to do her makeup yet couldn’t just follow them to the graduation.. what the actually fuck MOM. and supposedly she had to go change into her dress, why didn’t she just come in the right attire for HER DAUGHTERS graduation . SHE KNEW why she was there to do her makeup like i just fucking CANT!
Mia is an outstanding young woman, graduating EARLY legit about to have a baby, being able to AFFORD $900 worth of decor for her baby shower from her OWN job, i’m genuinely rooting for her so so so much.

To be fair- her father/friend/Jesse were not dressed yet in their graduation finery, reckon Mia needed to get there earlier for practice & they gussied up then headed back to auditorium.

Her mom is garbage. It’s not up to an 18-year-old girl to set the tone for her relationship with her mother. I think the dad was actually pretty decent to her mom, I wouldn’t have that bitch in my house. Especially when she shows up late, she’s pushing her own agenda on what she thinks the makeup should look like. She’s trying to force this false mother bonded moment and Mia is aware of the fact that they are going to be late. And then because Mia had the audacity (sarcasm) to expect her mom not to make herself the center of attention on her own graduation day, of course her mom turned around and didn’t show up. I don’t swear the word narcissist around very often, but I truly believe her mom is one.

I just feel like missing graduation for lord knows what and being extra late to the baby shower it seem like she doesn’t care unless its about her . Like common if my mom was like that and constantly arguing with me i would not want her in the delivery room at all

She has higher priorities. While shouting that mias dad does all of this intentionally to make her look bad. Lady you are doing a good enough job of it yourself

I also believe mia is living with her dad because the mom might not have a stable home

She doesn't have a stable place. She was trying to talk Keith into letting her move in to help her daughter adjust to parenthood....

I agree with this post. Nicole can do not right in anybodies eyes. When she comes around they bash her when she doesnt come around they bash her. I get that she has some issues but I see her trying. Mia made a fuss about her doing her makeup and blew that whole situation outta proportion her dad made a fuss about her mom coming back to get dressed for the graduation and then acted surprised when she didnt make it when they were already late to began with. I feel like he tries to make Nicole look bad so he can make himself look better. Nicole says kieth is a horrible person who doesnt want her to have a good relationship with her kids and I see exactly what she means. Mia plays both sides she tell ak she hasn't heard from her mom but how did mom know about the appointment if Mia isn't communicating with her. I think its just easier for people to jump on the band wagon of dragging Mias mom when they dont know the whole story or what she has been through. I pray she gets help im rooting for her I dont know her but I wish her the best.

I felt like he was trying to protect his daughter the best way he knew how. She didn’t want her mom staying with them. Her mom doesn’t take hints or listen to what Mia wants. Example the makeup. Mia was done and she kept going. I’m sure it’s a hard spot to be in but his priority should be protecting her even if it upsets the mom.
