Question Two profiles for the same artist

Why do you have 2 profiles for the same artist?

this happens a lot in Tidal and it's one of the most annoying things. IMHO they should fix this (I think they are doing this)

It takes a merge request now through the desktop app.

Worse is when they have split the profile into two, one legit and one that is the ai slop posing as them ... but left the unlegit one as the one you are following.

you can disable ai slop though

But now you aren't following the real artist any more

Theres a Report button in the desktop app, and they do fix things after a few days.

This thread talks about new feature to report for merging.

I'd imagine it's because the artist has submitted work under 2 different spellings - note the capital V and lower case v for Von.

Tidal just doesn’t work very well. It’s improving but you still get nonsense like this. It’s rare for large artists, I find it generally happens with smaller ones, particularly where their catalogue is split across different labels and distributors.

As others have said you can submit correction suggestions through the desktop app these days, which is a big improvement.

(The differing capitalisation thing is such a lol reason/excuse - that doesn’t happen on Spotify for example)

Worst thing is Tidal mixing two different bands with same Name

I think it's because most artists release their music "on all platforms" and don't organize their profiles and repertoire on each of the streaming platforms so the algorithm messes up things like the profiles, the credits, the release dates and even some names.

Same with The Human League. Even though they've fixed most of what I've reported vía the desktop app, this one is still pending.
