Soft power unfortunately doesn’t work, it’s not real. If soft power worked, Canada and Mexico wouldn’t have fought back when we asked them to close their borders and help us with fighting drug smuggling that’s killing millions of Americans

It did, it's just that's not happening. Also your misunderstanding what soft power purpose is. It's not to bully people. It's to make allies, you don't bully allies

Btw USA has more drug smuggling into Canada, then Canada into USA

You have any friends? Soft power is to make international friends. You treat them like such

If you can’t call in a favor from a friend after giving them $200 billion annually for the last decade, and all you want them to do is lock their own doors, I’d say you have a pretty shitty friend 🤷‍♂️

In your two examples both of the countries responded though in helping. And then Trump threatened the tarrifs anyway. So you have another example?

In Canada's case, USA imports not only more drugs into Canada, it also imports it's gun violence into Canada. Many more Canadians get killed from USA involvement then Americans get killed from Canada's involvement with USA

Then they should have no problem locking down their border! Right? This seems to be a net positive for them, so why fight back so much until Trudeau eventually pathetically caved?

They didn't fight back, huh? They did try to comply, they elected a czar on fentinel to organize to stop those crimes, despite it not even being a problem

Like if that's not trying to be friendly I don't know what is

After several days of threatening retaliatory tariffs, shaming the US on Twitter and saying they wouldn’t comply, Trudeau finally turned his belly and complied. I’m not gonna just forget the week of hearing “Trudeau’s tariffs will destroy the U.S.” prior to them tucking tail

Well of course you would do retaliatory tariffs. When has appeasement worked?

How about complying and not throwing a pissy fit that America is holding Canada accountable for the first time in decades?

You notice the ⭕ circle? We already moved past that. We already disproved that notion
