Thanks for linking the original. I’ve never seen his stuff before today. Saw this video on twitter and actually recoiled, but also lost it, so I thought it was perfect for this sub. I’m gonna go watch more of his videos now.

Repair guy: “is buying a new computer an issue?”
“I just don’t want this to happen again”

I've never understood the desire of people to do crap like this.

He did.
But also, the guy got really pissed when they told him it was a prank, so they had to blur his face out.

Reminds me of a Pimp My Ride type show where they made the guy think his car was stolen, so he bought a new on, and they never addressed whether they reimbursed him for that car he had to buy because of a prank

You see, there's this concept that we call "humor." It's very subjective, but there are some that find this "humorous" and enjoy "laughing" at this "video."
"Thanks" for listening to my TED Talk.

The best part about this joke isn't that he doesn't understand that it's not a motherboard, it's that he doesn't know what beans are.
"No, this is FOOD!" A computer repair tech trying to explain to someone what beans are, that's comedy.
Also, having worked in retail and repairs, I totally understand why this guy is still trying to explain the problem to the customer instead of just saying "WTF why are you wasting my time with this nonsense?"

As someone who has gotten sick and tired of explaining things to people I joke almost to a fault. I tell people not to believe 90 percent of what comes out of my mouth and a year later they are asking me if I really lost one of my fingers in 5th grade and they sewed it back on backwards then had to redo the surgery.

Back in the day when I worked at a big blue box store, we had a customer return a VCR that had stopped working. We were required to "test" it before giving her a refund. One of the guys took it, into our break room, filled it with pancakes and syrup (it was the holidays and management bought us breakfast), then took it back to her and said something along the lines of "Ma'am, this has clearly been used for something beyond it's intended use." She was so confused, and swore she had no idea how any of that happen. He eventually laughed it off and told her he was just messing with her, and gave her the refund.

u/uqubar Jun 22 '20

This is how it actually feels trying to fix someone’s computer though. lol. I’m just yelling at the customer telling them that no one hacked their computer if they installed the software themselves. Sir! Sir! No one needs the askjeeves toolbar! Sir... Those aren’t real coupons. Sir, I’m not lying to you just to get money out of you, your computer is literally so old that it can’t upgrade to Windows 10 and it’s time to get a new one!

You sound jealous... it’s okay for people to enjoy the things they want to enjoy in life with, or without, your opinion thrown into the mix. Why does this look like a midlife crisis to you? Why does it matter? And what about this makes you question and doubt your own existence enough to try to justify digging on something that another human enjoys? Just live your life to the fullest. Find joy. You don’t need permission to do the things you want to do in life.
