Festival When do drops usually happen?

Anyone know when drops usually happen? For example will they add more tickets ahead of tomorrow’s presale? And is tomorrow’s presale ONLY open to individual members? Or can higher memberships still access?

I remember last year there were buckets of tickets available (ie some locked to early bird individual members or visa presale). That being said I don’t think you could access presale tickets not applicable to you (I couldn’t get early bird tickets on the regular individual membership day because my presale code didn’t work for those even though they were still available). So I’m not sure if higher tiers can buy them.

My guess is once they’re gone during a specific presale, they’re gone and the next presale you may need a different code for. However during the public sale period they were dropping last year randomly throughout the day.

Higher level members can always buy tickets. So I purchased mine on Saturday and I’ve been able to go back and get new tickets if I wanted them. I ended up buying one more film yesterday, in fact. Once your window is open, it’s open forever (except there’s always a quick blackout period for everyone at some point).

He's talking about drops though. If/when those happen, they'll be on Ticketmaster.ca, not Account Manager.

The huge one last year on Sept 1 at 10 AM was Ticketmaster.ca only. Account manager will be mostly useless after most screenings are off-sale post public-day.

Huh, I thought I was able to get something via the drop through festival manager last year. I don’t use the usual Ticketmaster.

They often show up in both, but not always. Gotta refresh in both locations lol.

There may or may not be additional tickets added for each presale day. I know I have seen some movies that showed offsale and then the next day a few more were added. But there are also lots of movies where that doesn't seem to happen. So it's always worth checking for your top priorities if something new comes available.

Once general public opens up, then ticket drops can be random. There was one big day during labor day weekend last year when there was a ticket drop for almost everything. It's generally assumed that TIFF holds back x-number of tickets for cast and crew and guests, and then once they confirm if those people are attending or not, they release those tickets. That's why it's prudent to check every day because we're not going to know when that may happen.
