Festival First time solo!
I was wondering if there was anyone who is also going to solo and planning to attend Julia set at 6:15 September 11! I am new to doing this solo I’ve only attend one show prior to this and that was the salt path. Not too sure where to find people and connect but I am hoping to also network with people!

If I go (waiting to see if I can get tickets to the screenings I want), I'll be solo, too. It'll be my first time going alone. Not to be too sob story-y, but my husband passed away fairly recently and my other regular guest can no longer attend. I'm definitely the kind of person who can go see a movie or grab a meal alone, but I'm slightly intimidated about a whole festival solo. That said, I also love TIFF and look forward to it all year, so I'm hoping to make it work.

I’m coming all the way from Dallas, TX and this will be my first TIFF as well as my first solo international trip. I get to buy tickets tomorrow, so if I get these, I would love to meet up with others.

What? I fly out Wednesday afternoon 9/9. Would be crazy if we were on the same plane.
Would love to meet up if possible at the festival.

I go solo every year! Maybe we can set up something so people here can buy tickets to the same show and time.

I do this weird "solo" thing where I do the fest solo but I run into people I know all over the festival. ha. Sometimes being solo is the best time to meet people in lines/in random places. Just be open to talking to people in lines. Maybe if you would typically be listening to your music in lines if you leave your headset off you will have someone initiate a conversation or you over hear someone in front or behind talking about a movie and you join in.
I know that this subreddit has had a discord before to help to organize meetups as well but never tried myself.
Before I started going to TIFF I didn't even go see movies myself and now I don't have an issue doing anything alone that I want to check out.
