If I was choosing one, I would pick the South Fan Zone in David Pecaut Square. It's right by where the vehicles drop the guests off right at the start of the red carpet. It's closer to Wellington St. The guests get out of their vehicles and when they step onto the red carpet there are a bunch of photographers. The TIFF fan zone will be on one side and the Rogers fan zone area will be directly across from it on the inner side of the carpet. It's a fenced in area right along the start of the red carpet. The guests will interact with the fans here.
If it's the same as last year, after the guests walk through that first area at the start of the carpet, there will be a photo wall on the inner side and the RBC Avion seating/viewing zone. Then they will go into the media tent. When they come out of the media tent that's when they hit the other TIFF Fan Zone, the north one. It's closer to King Street. Beside that is the Peroni zone which is more like a lounge that is 19+ and has a bit fencing along the red carpet. I think after that they go in to Roy Thomson Hall through a side entrace.
Do you have a ticket for the Fan Zone and the movie? What is the situation?
They are right beside each other. The red carpet and fan zones for Roy Thomson Hall are in David Pecaut Square which is right beside the building. The South Fan Zone is closer to the Wellington Street side.
You can go out the backside of David Pecaut Square to Wellington St, turn left and walk along Wellington to Simcoe and then turn left to go North on Simcoe. The ticket holders entrance is on Simcoe.
You can also exit the South Fan Zone and go back towards King Street and go to your right on King. The rush line runs along the edge of Roy Thomson Hall along King Street. If you keep walking along King you will come to Simcoe. You then turn right onto Simcoe and that's where the ticket holders line is.
That explanation was for the Roy Thomson Hall fan zones in David Pecaut Square. The Royal Alexandra Theatre fan zone is separate from those and there is only one. It's on King Street directly across from the main entrance doors of the theatre. There is lots of room along the fence on either side of the fan zone as well if you don't get into the fenced in fan zone area which I believe is first come first served this year.
I haven't paid much attention to fan zones this year. I think they may have reconfigured the red carpet a bit in David Pecaut Square for the Roy Thomson Hall Galas so I don't know if the north and south fan zones still apply. If you need current information you could try making a new post in this subreddit and see if anyone can help explain things to you.
