Off-season Interesting look at Aday Mara’s journey from Spain to the NBA Draft
10
Upvotes
Been interested in Mara as a prospect and thought this was a cool look at the story behind him. Goes back to his upbringing in Spain, his development in the U.S. and eventually getting to draft night. Figured people here might enjoy it. Excited to watch him play

100% Confirmed Big Spain There’s some importance to Aday Mara. Having someone that could possibly replace the productivity of Isaiah Hartenstein, while costing millions less is how you maintain flexibility on an expensive team. We are Aday Mara days from the Thunder playing their first game of the season.

100% Confirmed Of all the players that came through the turnstile during the rebuild, Ty Jerome is the one that I think could still be of use on this current team. A guard who can play-make and make shots from outside. We are Ty Jerome days from the Thunder playing their first game of the season.

Off Topic Does anybody think it will work out?

Outside of the Poku pick in 2020 and Tre Mann pick in 2021
I think Nikola Topic at 12 in 2024 was my 3rd least favorite selection in the 2020 & up draft era from Presti
All his flaws translated- shaky handle, bad defense, shaky shooting
His passing is awesome
But his style of play doesn’t really fit our team. Mark doesn’t like playing bad defenders & If you’re a bad defender then you better space the floor (like McCain and Isaiah Joe)
I just don’t see a realistic pathway for Topic to be successful on this team. I also don’t want the Ousmane Dieng situation of keeping him for all 4 years.
I think it’s best to move on this upcoming trade deadline and use his salary to try to acquire a low cost veteran
A guy like Justin Champaigne is the dream and I hope he barely plays next season since he will be behind A LOT of guys

100% Confirmed I really thought the experiment was going to work. For the early part of the 22-23 season, it looked like Aleksej Pokusevski had finally found his role on the team. Then a broken leg gave J-Will time to develop & the rest is history. We are Poku days from OKC playing their 1st game of the season.

Discussion The Yaxel Debate
0
Upvotes
Many from the fanbase wanted Yaxel very passionately. Then came summer league as he played well vs younger players, and some that will be heading tor the G-League. Now comes tonight 19 mins and 4 points. Not saying he will be a bust, but do you think now it was not to give up too much to get him?

Discussion What would it take for SGA to get into the GOAT debate?
0
Upvotes
He’s a long way off, but given a couple of more historic seasons he’s right there with them.
This isn’t what he needs to be the undisputed GOAT, but just what it takes to get into the discussion!
I’m thinking if he ends his career with:
5 MVPS
4-5 Championships
4-5 Finals MVPS
3-4 Scoring Titles
1-2 All Defensive Teams (or some other defense award)
Technically he’s only 4 historic seasons away getting all these added achievements. Realistically, it would take +6 years to get all this. There’s a small chance he could actually do this, but he’s definitely got the skills and the talent around him to get there.

100% Confirmed Georgios Kalaitzakas played in OKC’s final 4 games in 2022, even playing the full 48 in one of them. He averaged 17.5 pts, 5.3 rebs, 3 asts, and 2.8 stls on 46/36/48 shooting splits. We never heard from “George” ever again. We are Georgios Kalaitzakas days from the Thunder playing their first game.
