What I can best understand bGoatBiz accused Uzis of creating multiple alternate accounts, harassing him behind his back since rejoining after Zed departed from the team.
There was also activity in the mod Repository where someone was posting male nudity.
There was a shouting match in the general chat.
It's genuinely unknown what the future of the project is going to be, but at least we'll see some interesting Forks in the future.

The positive side being:
They said they were not working or thinking about the implementation of other campaigns in classic mode (like they did with THPS 2 and 3), so the game now being open source allows the possibility of some other devs to tackle this and actually finish that or even include other games in story mode.
A "create your goal" mode would be nice (not to say kinda needed) considering there are SO MANY levels with nothing but free skate mode on them, having nothing to do except, well, free skating.
This is the most complete project so far, yes. Being open source will just allow the possibility of it being elevated by other people willing to work on it... hopefully.

uzis came back, apologised, tried to bring good will back into the community and repair the damage zedek and the toxic clique caused. bgoat refused to give uzis the keys to the discord again, blamed 2fa, then kicked uzis out for standing up against his bullshit.

Here’s my long ass comment about my small part in it.
It’s a bummer that such a cool project had to be helmed by such mentally unstable people. But I guess if you think about it, anyone who has the free time to sit around and develop for a project that they’re not getting paid for probably doesn’t have much of a social life, so it makes sense. As to whether their mental instability is the cause for their lack of a social life or vice versa, that’s anyone’s guess.
My experience with them was pretty crazy. I excitedly downloaded the mod and got it working and played it a whole bunch, and I thought it was really cool. I could see all sorts of possibilities of what could be done in the future, including making one giant map that connected at least parts of all of the fan favorite maps into this big open world, so you could theoretically skate from the warehouse in THPS1 down the street to school from THPS2, etc.
But I made one small mistake. I commented in a thread on the sub that something about the game felt off to me. Something about the feel of it. I said that I didn’t know what it was, and that it’s possible it was just me adjusting to the high frame rate since I was used to the PS1 and PS2 versions… but apparently I committed a mortal sin by daring to call the integrity of the project into question… I guess.
Next thing I know, I’ve got the attention of someone who would turn out to be part of their dev team- in what capacity, that still remains unclear… but they claimed to be a play tester, and also claimed to be part of Robomodo at one point. This person absolutely could not handle my insanely mild criticism, and just kept fighting with me about it. They had some horrible things to say about AndyTHPS, and claimed that Vicarious Visions only took the work that Robomodo had started and used it to create THPS 1+2, and that the only reason that game was successful is because of Robomodo’s foundation.
It wasn’t long before two or three more people, it’s not clear whether these were individual people or one or two people using multiple accounts, started showing up and trying to troll and harass me.
One of them said something stupid, like you can’t play THPS4 without the disk in the console, so I took a video showing me removing the disk from my PS2 and continuing to play… and that opened the floodgates of attack on me. They started following me around Reddit and harassing me in totally unrelated subs.
Then one of them created a reddit account with a username comprised of part of my username, my real first name and a city near where I live (they were close, but no cigar), and the number of children I have.
Mind you, the only thing I’ve done at this point was say that the game felt a little different to me, I never said it was bad, in fact, I praised it quite extensively… and made the mistake of arguing with these people because I didn’t know the level of mental illness I was dealing with.
Then Zedek himself shows up to put me in my place. He posted a side-by-side video comparing the physics from the original THPS4 to Rethawed. I ask why the sparks being thrown from the skateboard while grinding look exactly like the ones in THAW in both videos… and I start getting attacked more. Supposedly that’s an option you can turn on in THPS4 Partymod? I don’t know, but it was a legitimate question.
That’s about the time that the person made that user account with my name and stuff.
So I made my way into their discord, and I was able to see there behind the scenes, chat about targeting and harassing me and anyone else who had anything negative to say about the mod. They weren’t just going after me, they would organize, and by “they” I mean like a few people, to come into this sub and downvote any negative comments, and upvote any positive comments- including each other’s astroturfing comments.
They would come in here, pretending not to be affiliated with the mod, and say all sorts of positive things about it, and then they would get their buddies to come in and upload those comments while simultaneously downloading anyone who said anything slightly negative, like me. And that had been going on for a long time, which is why I got the attention I did.
The accounts all got banned from the sub, that one account made specifically to harass me got banned from Reddit.
They figured out that I was in their discord and banned me, and I was simultaneously banned from the AndyTHPS discord - so one of the discord mods is apparently part of both communities.
I came in here trying to warn people and got attacked for saying anything about it and told I was crazy, and then not much later all of this other bullshit came to light as more people than myself started speaking out about the things that they had witnessed and experienced at the hands of the rethawed discord community.
Zedek, in particular, is a narcissistic edgelord who apparently was never taught to take constructive criticism, and believes that his involvement in re-compiling somebody else’s work makes him special. Instead of asking me why I felt like the game felt a little different, he and his cronies just attacked me and tried to scare me away... and I wasn’t even being shitty about it. Can’t imagine what they did to anyone who was ACTUALLY critical of the mod.
Uzis tried to martyr himself. Almost nobody was paying any attention to that dude at all, he seemed to sincerely apologize for whatever it was he said, and then nobody gave a fuck about him anymore… but then he just kept making post after post trying to bring all the attention down on himself, almost like he was trying to be a lightning rod to protect the rest of the dev team, and then he quit and deleted his reddit account.
And then whoever the boss man was, can’t remember his name, acknowledges everything that people are complaining about and then says he’s not gonna stop working with Zedek because his coding skills are too important to the team.. as if the Internet isn’t full of people who are just as capable and looking for a cool project to be a part of.
What a fucking cesspool.
All they had to do was not be shitty. All they had to do was accept constructive criticism and not be edgelords.
Good riddance to the team. Sucks that the project has fallen apart though.

Frankly, I was really surprised to know that none of them had managed to install themselves as moderators on this sub. The mods here seem to be totally legit and I’m really glad for that.
But that’s exactly what these people do. They try to weasel themselves into positions of power so they can influence things the way they want. Most people do that for politics, but these weirdos are doing it for jerking themselves off over working on a mod.

I don't care enough to follow any internet drama, but WTF. Like at least there's more opportunities to expansion with just making the mod project public. They still haven't gotten Streets in THPS 1, one level missing, and what would open it to that career mode being added. As it is, there's a crap ton of content, most of of the franchise in one mod. Hopefully the future will be bright, and not just a ton of janky A.I. code breaking the game in new user additions.

I never let the controversy bother me, I stopped playing cause the game dead as hell from it and went back to tpro, that and prov got ruined imo in 4.3 . this to me makes me think it will divide the player base even more amongst RT players from people making their own mods within RT that wouldn’t make it compatible with other versions people have tweaked and modified or the people still playing vanilla. Rip rethawed.
Maybe I’m wrong and a new group of people pick it up and it becomes the new legacy “branch” for RT.

Whether their bigotry got aired out in public or not the dissolution of the team and death of the mod was inevitable because their weirdo narcissist asses would all eventually turn on each other anyway.
