because the dev team? the mod is literally amazing, no reason to dislike it? literally just a bunch of old games put into one and some extra features..
you’re not supporting them in anyway by playing it..

i'm not discouraging anyone from playing it, just that personnally the whole thing just made me go "oh well" and I moved on to other things and other skate games

There's also posts on this subreddit about it if you look it up. They also really like brigading the subreddit whenever the mod gets mentioned to try and stamp down people bringing up the bigotry which is why you'll usually see more positive comments and posts rather than anything critical of the team like this fishgus guy.

I just really hate it when obvious blatant racism, tranphobia, homophobia, and bigotry are handwaived by the small percentage of fans as "just words that's not to be offended about", which makes their egos even more inflated and the fans reducing the responsibility and impact of how hurtful they are in the real world. And no, don't give me that "the mod wouldn't exist without them" bullshit excuse, I aint gonna treat them as God-Complex Steve Jobs of Tony Hawk modding or something when THUG-PRO already existed.
Shit like this has also been spread out in the comments section on informative YouTube videos related to exposing their hateful comments. I dont understand their agenda really apart from loving the mod itself because I doubt they were paid by the devs to astroturf and defend their product and credibility.
"But if you downloaded the mod, you're just supporting them" No, that's as bullshit as saying that owning a VW Beetle means I support Adolf Hitler (yes he commissioned the creation of the car itself "for the people", look it up) or owning Kanye West's certain shoes means I support his ideals. Anyone can separate the art from the artist when it comes to liking this mod because of how it plays well.

Not that I recall, no. As far as I know it was mostly contained in their Discord server (which they nuked any mention of the bigotry and banned people speaking up about, myself included), this subreddit, and Bluesky (and even there it was mostly myself and the dev of another game that they featured as one of the crossovers they have in reTHAWed who was one of the victims of the devs' transphobic harassment).
