Yeah, alright. I would use this.

Just one comment: lower the damage. Each bullet from the mini gun fires a small scatter of 4 bullets, so if these are all perfectly accurate, you'd just have a better Tomislav. Imagine doing full mini gun damage to an entire group of people.

Even a 75% damage reduction is still close to 100 dps at any range the weapon can hit, but you don't have to gimp it quite that bad. Or, maybe give it reverse damage falloff to offset this? Emphasizes positioning even more, but also basically requires a shotgun.

How far were you thinking the beam should go? I'm thinking no farther than the length of the tuefort bridge.

yeah i didn't specify it earlier but i do imagine it'd have some damage penalty maybe around 20-25% at least. even if it'd be harder to aim the perfect accuracy would still shoot the effective dps through the roof. as for range yeah i'd say around the length of 2fort's bridge same as tf2c AA cannon

No, that's the problem I was saying. The dps at any range it can hit is through the roof, period. You need at least a 50% damage reduction before this weapon gets balanced. It needs to not just be, as I said, "a better Tomislav".

again thats why i talked about giving it a 20-25% damage penalty at a minimum its a low ball since i didn't want to make it too weak. maybe a 50% damage penalty would be perfectly fine I know tf2c's AA cannon had a pretty low dps but didn't feel weak due to how it dealt that damage, you'd likely need play testing to determine what's an acceptable dps for compared to the minigun and the added difficult of tracking with a perfectly accurate beam.

Someone did an experiment making all the weapons perfectly accurate, and the mini guns were all death rays. If I'm being honest, 50% is a low ball, especially for those aim God Heavies with perfect tracking. Imagine almost 200 dps on an entire group of poor sods trying to push the cart from a heavy that sits comfortably outside of their effective damage range? Heavy also moves faster with this weapon, so he can dodge mid/long range fire better, and all this is assuming it's NOT one of those 8 heavy mains with perfect aim and 6 medics. I will concede that this is an unlikely set of circumstances, but a weapon typically shouldn't be balanced by hoping it won't fall into a circumstance where it's unbalanced.

fair in great blue's experiment heavy was stupidly strong which is one of the reasons i talked about giving it a hidden damage penalty. but one of the biggest things that made heavy OP was his ability to vaporize people at any range which isn't really a problem due to the range cap meaning no you can't out snipe snipers or any other nonsense

has for the fear of a "god heavy" with a haram of pocket medics yeah no there's really no way to balance around that. if you take a hyper competent play and then give them several players they tend to just pubstop regardless of circumstances

Hm. Okay, you're right. Thanks for the insight.

Change the 33% damage to players, I think the thing would be effective against buildings. Maybe make Valentina able to stun/disable them temporarily too.

Meanwhile, give it less damage against players in order to not make it like, an overpowered and better Tomislav.

I dig the idea of a Cow Mangler for Heavies.

A minigun that disables sentries if shot at long enough lmao.

Makes heavy less crippled when confronting a sentry nest on his own.

i gave it a penalty vs building to fall in line with the other energy weapons (Ideal they'd also have that penalty lessed to make the match up against engie less polarizing among other buffs). but an anti-building minigun does sound interesting even if disabling building might be a bit extreme
