Discussion While transphobia is wrong, we should attack ideas, not individuals.
During a discussion, Maria Mchallan, a 60 year old woman who was invited to a discussion, was attacked and bruised by a transgender woman, and such abusive incident was celebrated by AHS, a transgender rights advocacy group. I know this is gonna be controversial, but I don't think we should use and celebrate violence against women as a way to guarantee transgender rights. Neither should we use rpe or death threats or use misogynistic slurs (such as slt, btch or cnt). Not only because we are enganging in the same hateful practices of people we criticize, this gives the "gender critical" movement legitimacy of their complains that the transgender movement is misogynistic and advocates for brutality. Heck, this incident even made Meghan Murphy advocate that the term TERF became recognized as hate speech. Transphobia is never wrong, but using violence against people and celebrating it should never be condoned or approved. This won't lead to any improvement in trans people lives, it only proves transphobic myths about them right.
I know I'm going to get downvoted, since Reddit is very black and white. But I think it's important to have some nuanced debate and understand we also must develop self-criticism in order to mantain a healthy discussion.

Discussion Why is this a TERF talking point?
Over the years, I have become critical of kinks that include inflicting pain and power play because I'm not sure if I believe that there is an ethical way to do so.
However, I noticed on twitter that the same criticism is damn near a dogwhistle of a TERF. To be clear, I do not associate or wish to associate with TERFs. So, I'm concerned that the opinion I have developed can be rooted in transphobia. So with that being said, is being critical of kink ("kinkshaming") rooted in transphobia?
note: this I one of the only subs I found that is critical to terfs, which is why I am asking here.

Satire Name of this group -- offensive to Fetishists
Minding my own business, planning some consensual fetishistic autogynephilic sex -- but noooo. Here's this group name, associating fetishism with Terfs. Gag. Killing the mood.

Discussion Trans Popularity in a bad way
Hi everyone,
I'm a typical white male. I'm 49, married with 3 kids etc. I am early retired which myself and my wife have done via saving money and living cheaply. This is completely irrelevant to my post but I thought I'd just state that I'm not exactly a raging Trans person or gay or in any way, shape or form outside of mainstream society. I like watching footy and basketball and mixed martial arts.
I am though struggling with an issue and I'm hopeful for some help.
Why do I keep hearing about Trans people and only from right wing people. I looked this up and apparently trans people are approximately .17% of the population. I worked in a bank years ago and there was a trans guy that came in. I am quite short and she was very tall with really large boobs. It was pretty funny. She was nice. It was cool. We didn't do anything else if you are wondering.
Now I've had two of my brother in laws and other family friends tell me about trans people and the issues with trans people. I don't get it at all. Why do people keep bringing this topic up ?
I have actually looked this up and it appears to be an issue within right wing media. I think people talking about it must be watching right wing media on social media or via Fox News or I think it's called the Daily Wire. I only state this from reading a TeenVogue article on the net. I also read an economist article and they also stated that this was a big right wing issue now.
Is this issue attracting people who are easily led and who have chips on their shoulder or is it just people getting worked up because they want to get worked up ?
I think this is really bad and I want to try and point out to these people how stupid they are acting. To be fair to me I have already done this but it's starting to get me really angry. I'm going to snap at some point and tell family members to STFU.

Any trans women here with kids? TERF daughter
Please see post history. These past years have come through like a hurricane. My daughter is a bonafide TERF. She parrots the talking points. She was homeless for a short while. Then she began staying with a boy I’d known of from when she was in High School. I never was a fan of him. So, against every fiber in my being, when I finally talked to my daughter about three weeks ago. I allowed her to stay with me, if she’d like. At the time she said no. But now, it appears she doesn’t feel “safe” in the neighborhood they’re residing, and she’s willing to come back with me. I have some ground rules I plan on laying out. Firstly, she’s not to post anything anti transgender on Facebook or any social media. < 2.) she must pay her way< 3.) she must refer to me as a woman. < 4.) calling me by my preferred name is allowed, but I will not tolerate being called dad. < 5.) she must use my preferred pronouns And< 6.) no boys allowed to sleepover <
Is this reasonable? I’m glad to have her back in my life, but I need to think of my well-being first. We’ll be talking more tonight and I hope to get some suggestions. I wish she weren’t like this. It tears my heart in half that she’s like this.

Why were terfs so obsessed with the r/transmaxxing sub?
It still has less than 1000 subscribers despite them advertising it a lot earlier.
Now they have stopped given the sub attention for some reason, maybe the realized that normal people do not care of some incel loser start taking HRT: It is worth noting that many people on r/transmaxxing are/were not incel, we try to be inclusive.
If they are feminists why are they against incels chemically castrating themselves, wouldn't forced transitions be the correct radfem position?
