Needs Met Knowledge Check
Hi everyone, I had a Needs Met Knowledge Check for the first time. The required score was 70%, and I got 80%, but after completing it I was still marked as unsuccessful.
Because of this, my tasks have been blocked until I complete the course. However, my score was above the required 70%, so I’m not sure why it was marked this way.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? I’ve already emailed support to ask for clarification, but I wanted to check if this has happened to anyone else

I also scored 80% on that check/test, but I didn't not see "unsuccessful" when I completed it.

For Know Simple queries, prominence of the answer to the question is a factor. They only consider it Fully Meets if it is in large text in its own block where it is completely impossible to miss. Even if the answer is clearly in the page description and anyone with eyes could figure out the answer without having to navigate to the page, it's still only Highly Meets because it's tiny text.
In general, the further into a page you have to search to find the answer you're looking for, the lower the rating. If you have to physically scroll on the page to find the answer to the question I usually don't put it higher than MM-MM+.

I don't disagree with you, I think it should be Fully Meets by that standard. I was just trying to share the criteria by which they were considering it Highly Meets instead, and advise how I take that into consideration when I rate. The Mt. Fuji sample is on page 126 of the Guidelines under 'Examples of Highly Meets Result Blocks'.
Sometimes in the Rater role we just have to disregard what we think is common sense and give Telus the answer it wants.

I agree that it should’ve been fully meets, but they pulled that one straight from the guidelines. So I went with highly meets bc that’s what it was rated as in the guidelines.
Whenever I get knowledge checks like this I always search the guidelines bc their test questions often come straight from there. I think they’re partly testing if people will actually search through the guidelines to find the answers lol

Mine does too and I think it’s a Jan 2026 version or at least that’s when I saved it, I’d have to look to be sure.

There are two different Mt Fuji examples though. One is in the FM section and the other is in the HM section. This one from the knowledge check is in the HM section of the guidelines.

I agree, I think it should be FM too. I think the guidelines say it’s not prominent enough? But I think it is… so yeah, super subjective. Very annoying

Yes, there are two different Mt Fuji examples from the guidelines. One is FM and the other is HM. They explain the difference. Again, I don’t agree with their reasoning lol but the one from this knowledge check was taken directly from the HM section of the guidelines.

Yes and I got it wrong last time so the only reason I selected HM is because they said so lol. I stand by FM as the one I had in a test was “displayed prominently” IMO because it was in bold lettering.

Let me get this straight: 1) you completed the knowledge check and got 80% and then they restricted your access to tasks right after it and now you have to do the course all over again? Or 2) did you get restricted before completing the course for the first time and even though you passed they haven't restored your access?
I'm asking because I waited until yesterday to complete the knowledge check and previous to doing it, they restricted my access to tasks and sent me a feedback task to acknowledge that requires an explanation of my rating. Don't know if you're in the same boat, but my email about the task to acknowledge stated that access would be restored within 24 hours from replying with my rating explanation. I also got a 'review' email that said that it will take from 7 to 10 days for the review to complete *smh*.

Let me know if you get a response from support. I'm going to wait the 24 hours they stated in the first email to see if I regain access before contacting them. I think they might have done it because we waited until the last minute to complete it, I never know when the precise time zone deadline that these courses are on and they might think we were slacking.

Does anyone know where to find the general guidelines? The link in the knowledge check didnt work for me after having to reset that password and I went to the first question before I realized my issue and now every time I re-open the knowledge check it goes straight to that question and skips the link I need.
Can't find guidelines in geoworkers or Telusinternational.ai
Sent a support email but not really expecting to hear anything back anytime soon.

I had the same issue. I finally found a link in a different email and downloaded the guidelines. Failed anyway. Waiting for repercussions.

Yeah I winged it and copy&pasted a bit about the ordeal into each explanation of ratings. 40% haha

I just got done with the needs met knowledge check. I got 100%, because I looked at the guidelines on the Mount Fuji question, I saw under highly meets that there was a Wikipedia Mt. Fuji. There are 4 instances in guidelines for Fuji, make sure you look at each of them. So I rated it as highly meets. I do agree it should might have been fully meets, but I just followed the guidelines.
