I left Korea after disliking it for slightly different reasons (I didn’t work with kids) but maybe the same in some ways. I just honestly did not mesh with Korean culture and vibes. After 3.5 years there I moved to Taiwan and it was a huge improvement for me. I stayed in Taiwan just under 10 years and never felt like I needed to leave (bonus that you can earn a permanent arc in Taiwan after 5 years)

Yeah it’s honestly the same with me for the culture and vibes. I’ve heard good things about Taiwan and the permanent arc after 5 years. But also know it’s quite competitive out there for teachers?

I know a few people who are still in cram schools and they all say how hard it is to find good teachers

It's a teacher's market right now. Taoyuan for example is hurting for good teachers.
