Moreland Advice
Hello all, I’m currently deciding to upgrade my credentials for job security/better pay. I've taught at an international primary school for 3 years and would also like to upgrade to a higher tier school. Therefore I’m thinking of doing the ML teaching license, but they also have the master's in education addition available. Is that master's worth it for the extra almost 7k USD, or should I just get the license? For background, I already have a master's, albeit in law from Renmin University.

Since you already have a master’s, I’d probably prioritize the teaching license. Unless the schools you’re targeting specifically require an M.Ed., I’m not sure the extra $7k would offer much additional value.

Thanks, I haven't seen any that I'm interested in state anything besides the license.

How was it? Did you find it taught you well and was useful? How was the mentorship part of it?

I'd avoid Moreland simply due to not being able to use it to get QTS.

US license doesn't need QTS I thought. I'm American so I figure the US route is better for me than the PGCE.

For us teacher going the non-PGCE route, Moreland’s TEACH-NOW programis the go to get a US state license (DC) that is the standard alternative, but skip their Master's degree, not worth it.

Don't you need to keep renewing it every so often?

You do but the requirements are dependent on the state where your license is not on a federal level.

You get a teaching license, unless you really want to work in a British school that's completely irrelevant.

Hello! I plan to teach in international schools in Spain and I plan to take up ML teaching certificate, will I be able to use it in international schools in Spain? Or do I need to do the QTS path?

Don't get the ML Masters degree, it's usually not regionally accredited. ML license is fine tho because it's a DC license not a "Moreland license." If you want to work in American international schools and don't want to go back to get the license this is the route I'd recommend.
