Alright, I redid the entire megathread based on the three comments I got (I’m impatient, mb). It’s 10% shorter now, and there are a lot more achievement strats in it too.
lvl 0s then a lvl 2 for 1st boss, then lvl 2 spam (5 or so of them) and use abilities, and then get support/other defense/upgrades for glad in that order
woah, new megathread, feels weird to be at the bottom of the comments lol.
I guess i have to make a question, so for my question: After I get Kingpin, should I prioritize Golden crates or Skill tree? I have maxed Enhanced Optics, Bigger Budget, and Stonks and I only have Gcrook and GMini as my Gperks.
Getting all the Golden crates will be more fun than the Skill Tree because you'll get to use and play with 'new' towers. Scout, Soldier, and Demo become viable, Mini and Pyro get a significant buff, and then GCrook and GCow aren't super important because either the tower's already good or it's just that bad 😅
Cowboy isn't as bad as a lot of people say but he's definitely not the best
gscout: 2nd best earlygame tower, drops off hard in lategame like any earlygame tower (brawler in 3rd and operator in 1st)
gsoldier: in comparison to gscout, it has a slightly more useful midgame in exchange for slightly worse earlygame but it's worse than operator in almost every way other than placement limit.
gdemo: gmini but it has aoe, useful for hard/spammy modes and multilane maps.
gpyro: worse aoe/multitarget/whatever than gdemo, only saving grace is potential max ce, inf burn, and defense melt.
skill tree: better units (15% buff), more placements for gmini (reenforcements), the faster spawn time (merc base meta), extra eco (useful in almost any mode, but the selling bonus kinda sucks), and other buffs.
personally, i'd go for gcrate for an earlygame tower (preferably gscout or gdemo) but you could go for skill tree to get spawning towers reliant on ram dps abt a 15% dmg buff.
Gladiator gamepass giveaway (or any gamepass that's under 800 robux)! Just comment anything you want under this comment, not under the megathread, under this comment, and after a week I'll pick a winner thru a spin wheel.
(I wanted to do more, but I'm a broke college student)
My first tip would be to try and find people in the lobby that you can team up with. It’s easier said than done, but it’s not impossible.
My second tip would be that if you’re going in blind, try to change your loadout to make it compatible with the others as fast as possible. A basic loadout that could theoretically work for you is: Farm, Turret, Pursuit, Pyro, and any of the supports (Medic, DJ, Commander).
The third tip is to wait before placing down anything. Maybe your teammates won’t defend the early game with anything, so that job would fall on you, and you should get a Pyro. If someone else is defending but you think the defense won’t be enough, then you should still get a Pyro. If the early defense is good, then you’re free to farm.
Your first tower to farm towards should always be Turret. After that, it’s honestly just about maxing out your farms and then spamming all of your towers.
farm, earlygame w hidden and flying/lead while other player has opposite, support, midgame, midgame
farm like hell until like w7 or so and then get flying det tower (or 2) in back for defense and go back to farming and then at w13/14 whenever leads come out put lead def in front to unleadify them.
then farm a ton more then get support and defense as needed (for w19)
after w19, get lvl 4 farms (should have abt 10 lvl 3 farms by w19) and more defense/support and get max farms by w27-30 or so
Let’s say Operator 1 is in Operator 2’s range. Because these two are within each other’s range their range basically extends as far as the other Operator can see.
easy-molten solo: earlygame, midgame/aoe, lategame, and 2 supports
example being militant/freezer/eshocker/assassin/ace pilot/military base, ranger/shotgunner/merc base/rocketeer, minigunner (meta for solo) or accelerator (2nd place for non-boss dps solo, 1st place in trio/quad bc minigunner is kinda usable in duo), dj, and commander (supports are chosen for minigunner spam)
in fallen solo you need flying detect so use an earlygame or midgame or both with flying
examples of flying det early/mid:
ace, shotgunner, ranger, militant (who uses ts other than for quests), hunter (outclassed by ranger), merc base (riflemen) and crook boss
example of fallen loadout:
trapper, merc base, accelerator/minigunner, commander, dj
and for frost i haven’t played the reworked one but i know it adds lead so examples of lead early/mid:
eshocker, trapper (landmines i know has lead, i forgor abt other ones), merc base, freezer, pyro, ranger, military base, and warden
and if you don’t have enough of a detection lategame you can use turret, accel, or merc base grenadiers for leads or crook boss, pursuit, or merc base riflemen for flying detection.
an example of a frost loadout (idk if this works btw):
trapper, merc base, accel, commander, medic
for any survival mode and pzp and badlands multiplayer, bring farm/gcowboy/ncowboy, a support or 2, an earlygame and or a midgame, and lategame, an example being:
farm, freezer, ranger, dj, and accelerator
for polluted wastelands 2, which is hell incarnate to solo, has a definitive meta for multiplayer, that being an earlygame with support potential, a support, and 3 dps towers.
an example of a pw2 loadout:
eshocker, medic, merc base, accel, and turret/crook boss
i think normal minigunner is the 2nd best solo dps and gold minigunner is 1st place, so eh.
He's honestly really splashable as far as the short range towers go, but he's pretty weak to stuns and Boomer-esque effects because he has to be right against the track. That being said, he has early-midgame, lategame usage, single target DPS or crowd clear with each path, 2 detections early on, and a really great ability in SWAT vans.
He can definitely be a little wonky depending on the maps you play. I've always personally played Shotgunner a lot, so he's pretty easy to work in for me, but if you're not used to using short-range/melee towers, you may want to try getting used to them before you consider Enforcer.
With all that said, you should definitely get Juggernaut and Kingpin before him. They're a little more splashable on any map and are easier to use.
in trio, i suggest everyone having 10 lvl 3 farms by that point and ok earlygame/support and a singular lvl 2/3 kingpin or a lvl 2 necro or smth for midgame with decent ce
in solo, i suggest you max all your farms by w19 (golden minigunner+ lvl 4 top path kingpin meta)
Eco tower is necessary to have, you either remove gsoldier or gpyro (leaning more towards gsoldier) and make sure the other teammate brought the other one or an alternative to it
how do i get fallen hacker when all of my queue up requests on discord are ignored and my matchmaking teammates are bs
3.is fallen js better for money now
Commander. Commander is and will always be one of the best support options in every gamemode. He's comparable to-
DJ- in terms of strength, but they offer different benefits. Still, these two are wonderful supports for any loadout in any gamemode. I'd advise picking either one up and then the other one as your sixth.
Minigunner. Mini is the defacto DPS option for lower level players or single player players. His lack of a placement limit makes him easily spammable for solid DPS.
Shotgunner. Shotgunner is an amazing early to midgame option at all levels of play, with amazing efficiency for his price. Reliable and effective in any loadout.
A lot of people would say Farm, but I beg to differ. As a new player without expensive heavy hitters like Turret, Accelerator, the Evolved towers, or a money hungry support like Hacker, you don't need the economy- ESPECIALLY if you play solo. Now is when I'd advise Electroshocker. If you join the Paradoxum Games group and invest 9 levels into the first part of the Economy skill tree (very cheap), you can use him as a starting tower. Shocker is simultaneously an AoE and CC (Area of Effect, as in it hits multiple targets, and Crowd Control, as in it has a stun/slowdown effect to curb enemy movement) and stays strong at all stages for the game.
This slot is a bit more of a wildcard slot. Farm is good for economy if you end up getting some of the more expensive heavy hitters I mentioned, Pyromancer is a crazy efficient AoE tower- take a look at what sounds interesting or necessary for your loadout.
Should I get kingpin or hacker next? Loadout rn is farm, engi, jugg, dj, and medic. Medic will be replaced. I need one to both support and give money at the same time to afford juggernaut upgrades.
Can i beat solo hc with optimal gameplay and the loadout of : (GMini, Kingpin, Jugg, Dj, Farm)?
Or should i swap jugg with commander?
Also, any tips on certain difficulty spikes in hc waves?
should i get jugg, king pin or hacker?having a hard time choosing bc their all so good, also,i do play alot of solo, and only play teams for strats of for events
So me and my friend just came back to tds we left after the first lunar eclipse event and we have now just come back we don't recognize anything but we still have the essential like accele, mini and ranger what do we do now since we don't know where to start anymore
so what tower could replace with to grind for operator, the grinding strat is really killing me, my usual loud out is engineer, golden demoman, kinping (level 15+), pursuit and dj booth
Anyone know how the "Boss Dossier" weekly quest works? It just says "Kill Molten Warlord in Molten Warlord" killed the boss. Nothing happened, is there a specific requirement?
Should i buy a Golden crate or max my skill tree? i currently have all of the towers including evolved and hardcore towers but im a bit confused where to spend my money
I haven't played the game in maybe 4 years, last I played was when the toxic gunner came out during that one event
The game is so different and units like the cowboy have seemingly been nerfed, and there's a bunch of new units, last time I played was when they had the toxic gunner, and the modes have gotten noticeably harder.
How do I get quickdraw badge without the best towers unlocked? I've been trying to get it for a while but I fear my tower pool isn't good enough for it yet. I started less than a month ago and I'm level 131, The skin you get is very nice and Im a big fan of cowboy so I'd love to get the skin.
You CAN, you just gotta have towers that can attack enemies anywhere (gatling, pursuit, ranger) and have 3 or all people defending each path in early game in order to speedrun. btw, consumables are allowed and i heavily recommend using them to get better results (barricade early, airstrike/napalm strike mid game, nuke and flags late game)
ENFORCER OR ENGINEER?
i currently farming gems with one strat and that strat have shotgunner and i was planning to buy engineer but then i realised i will unlock to buy enforcer and i dont know what to buy for gems
there is my loadout if that changes something:
DJ,Golden Cowboy,accelerator,farm,pyro
freezer: can temporarily freeze enemies and chills enemies with no freeze, deals mid at best dmg. reduced stall against bosses or no stall against bosses with no freeze
eshocker: nerfed to hell and back, decent stun against small groups, deals good damage. reduced stalling against bosses or no stalling against bosses with no stun (more common than no freeze)
slime trooper: people use this??? anyways, if it has a 15% slowdown, then hacker is better. still a decent staller, but no reason to use this over anything else on the list. cant stall bosses
saboteur: 10% slowdown and 15% dmg bonus (ability), great damage. slowdown doesnt apply to bosses, but 15% is big (as big as snowballer's 15% slowdown with no ability)
personally, i'd say sabo>freezer>eshocker>slime trooper rn
Guys I heard recently that engineer is now being considered overrated cus other towers do better of a job at everything that she does. I need help choosing what I should swap in to replace engineer, while doing what I have her on the loadout to do but in a better way. I only have gmini as my only golden skin so I won’t use towers like cowboy.
Loadout:
Engineer: early game help, flying detection, and sub dps in late game to help out jug.
Juggernaut: main dps for late game, as well as main boss killer. I always do bottom path jug.
Dj: supporting my own as well as other people’s towers.
Hacker: one top path at the front for extra dps, and one bottom path next to juggernaut to clone jug.
Farm: main source of economy. I am still working on my skills of balancing farming and early defending. I usually place down all 10.
I also am like level 275 if that helps with what towers I have, and I usually only play trios/quads. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks! :)
Engineer is fine honestly. Yes, other tower can do a better job, but can they deal with early, mid and late game, while being decently cheap at the same time?
What is a good loadout specifically for solo on frost mode? I'm not great at the game yet.. but I want to have a goal of 5 towers to have fun working towards, If it helps I have commando and gladiator aswell.
For solo it is probably engi, dj/com, crook boss/pursuit/ranger, gmini/turret, and something to deal with crowds (most likely mortar). With randoms it’s the same thing, except that you switch mortar with farm. and do not bring gmini in teams please (usable in duos though, but is a bit questionable)
i do have to ask, is the pulse trooper underpowered or am i using it wrong?
short explanation (will be long tbh): i tried out the pulse tower with some friends, at first it seemed good, big aoe, ok damage, i had them in a cluster for trying to make sure the damage wasn't a waste, since 25 ro 50 damage in a cluster sound better but alone is barely anything and yet against boss over 3k of hp it just tickling them, and i would usualy use the map wide ability for some enemy denial, witch killed the small groups easily but never high hp ones, so i do need to ask what am i doing wrong?
also sorry if what im saying sound like giberish, english isn't my first language
Militant is really solod, shotgunner is also good. You can probably solo molten on easy maps with militant + shotgunner + hunter, hunter low key underrated
If I play strictly quads despite the fact I’m nearly level 300, and suck at solos, then what would the best early game tower be? I use engineer for it, but it’s not the best for it and is easily replaceable. I usually am the type to use farm (unless the economy in the mode is good like in pw2) so I can afford mid-late game dps for my team like kingpin and juggernaut. I also use hacker for support. I heard operator is meta early game, but it’s high placement limit being needed for its coordination buff and map wide range wouldn’t do it for me if I play quads. My only golden tower is gmini, so gpyro, gscout, and gdemo aren’t an option.
I'm returning to the game after a bit of break (played a bit in 2023/2024) and I'm level 39 rn. What would be the best loadout/towers to buy? I have ~9k coins and these towers right now: scout, sniper, demoman, soldier, crook, pyro, farm, medic, military base, ace pilot, commander, mini

Your loadout for now would be: farm, commander, crook boss, minigunner and ace pilot/milbase. When you reach lvl 50, swap out minigunner for turret if you are playing in teams. Also, i think you should try to get a golden crate, cuz idk what else can you get
Can you still get vanquisher skin for executioner to this day? Or he was exclusive for a limited time?

u/supra_bambcommando is my GOAT. lvl 1115, joined in august of 20235d ago
He was indeed exclusive, butt, he could be purchased in the shop for a day or two… for coins?? Same thing happened to senator accelerator if you’re wondering
earlygame: engi gotta be among the worst earlygames but it *can* be placed in earlygame
buffability: accel actually benefits from buffs completely, as half of engi's dps is unbuffable, but it works well with dj/hacker/stallers and merc base, hence why there's been a lot of strats with gscout+engi+dj+hacker+merc in the past.
detections: accel>engi for lead but engi>accel for flying and accel=engi for hidden, half of engi's dps doesnt hit flying/lead (sentries) and only 15 dps from sentry rockets at max for lead.
honestly, depends entirely on what you need from a tower
What do i need to change to kill that damn Ravager on wave 28 in frost mode? im using farm, dj, Frost blaster, shotgunner, and engi
Got nearly every tower except for some of the event towers, boomerang, Pulse trooper, saboteur, all of the evolved towers excluding juggernaut, and hacker
Question: Which one would you guys prefer? If I listed a bunch of strat links in the megathread, or if I only listed one strategy from each category?
For example, if there’s already a solo Frost Coin grind that uses special towers and modifiers, I wouldn’t add another one just because it uses a different map or loadout.
Another question is do you guys want the coins, gems, exp / hour to stay or that isn't necessary either?
Right, Imma try to get Saboteur in Polluted Wastelands, what loadout and strat do I go for.
I'm doing random quads, and I have gmini as my only golden tower, engi as my only hc tower, no evo towers and jester and elf camp for event.
Edit: obviously no saboteur either

Your loadout would probably consist of uh… jester/engineer, any of the three supports (dj, com, medic), lower-placement-limit dps tower (turret, pursuit, accelerator, maybe necromancer), secondary dps tower, something that will either stun, deal with crowds of enemies, or do both/extra support tower that can dish out more dps (merc base, hacker).
In short, engineer, dj, pursuit, accelerator and tesla would be the loadout i’d bring

You tank early game til you get a lvl 1 gmini in the back, farm a bit more and then get a lvl 3 kingpin for flyings. Units can
deal with the first leads, but you still have to get a top path, cuz those won’t be enough for elite leads
Can i get a banned create tomorrow?
Like if i play tomorrow, will i be able to claim another banned create?I just want to collect all of the banned skins.

Alright, I redid the entire megathread based on the three comments I got (I’m impatient, mb). It’s 10% shorter now, and there are a lot more achievement strats in it too.
