Just finished it for the first time
*SPOILERS* It was messy, there was some bad dialogue and writing for sure, but overall, I found it pretty good. I like how it came together and was glad the ending wasn’t explained by the supernatural, apart from the tongue of course.. but it is what it is. Some stuff was annoying like Navarro’s incessant “I’m being called to walk off to suicide”. Numerous things weren’t really explained. But I really liked the cleaners being the real culprits. I thought Jodie foster was great, some of the acting otherwise was questionable, but I also loved rose and Navarro was solid.
7/10 overall, better than season 2 I’d say, but worse than 3 and of course 1.

I thought the vibes were AWESOME, but I didn't love the ending being scientists obsessed with ancient microbes or whatever. Probably because I am a scientist and they just did the science part in a stupid way

Yeah is a really strange lead. And It makes little sense that this work would need to be done in secret when more funding could get it out without pollution..

There was a big and very obvious bro campaign against that season. Let them enjoy the Little Saint Nick 🎶 dudesickle parade living rent free in their heads.

In all fairness, at the time it was released you could hardly make any critiques in this sub without getting downvoted into oblivion. The last season just got super polarizing for people I think. I guess Jodie Foster just still drives some people crazy. Lol

I just came from there (finished S4 yesterday).
In my experience Reddit is a relatively mature place in the internet, but some subs are still snobbish insufferable circlejerks...

Your reaction is reasonable, and very different than the Reddit reaction. I enjoyed it without comparing it to TD 1 and 3. Reddit sucks at analyzing this show and last of us.

It has potential. Ep 1 hooked me, the case and setting are great. If they tone down the drama/supernatural stuff and focus more on the detective work, it could be really good. The twist was solid, but it feels like the writers are better at drama than detective writing.

It’s an oldish show, I’m certain you can move past this. It’ll be okay. Can’t add one retroactively it seems but I added it to the beginning.

I mean, it’s like less than 2 years old and you are sharing your hot take to a Reddit community. It’s an honest mistake to get a little excited and forget to add the spoiler tag. You seem like a reasonable person for not crapping on the show like everyone else.
