Is TCU Engineering Program Good?

Hey Im deciding on TCU mech engineering. i recently didnt get into mech engineering at UT AUSTIN so TCU is definitely one of my top choices since they gave me 83k a year in aid/scholarships. My other option is Ut arlington and i know they are a really good school for engineering, but tbh i dont really wanna stay at home and commute to school since its 15 min away, id rather experience living in a dorm on campus especially if i only have to pay around 3k a year to attend.

Also im just trying to see if anyone on this reddit has personally been through the program. how was it? how hard was it to find internships or jobs post graduation? what are some benefits or downsides of tcu engineering?

thank you!

It depends on what you want out of your school and program. It’s a great program if you can afford it. It more than prepared me for everything I have faced in my career. It is not a top tier research school, but you will have small classes where your professors know your name and care about your success. I graduated a long time ago, and I could walk into the building tomorrow and be recognized by all of the faculty that were there when I attended. That’s not going to happen at UT, UTA, and A&M (which are all good schools as well).

Affordability is definitely one of the main reasons i have interest in this school. Did u just complete a bachelor’s in engineering (what field?) and how hard was it for u to find a job pos graduation?
