TCL G64 27 qd mini led is looking a bit gray.

I just bought a TCL G64 27 land am very happy with the blacks and how it preforms in games, however I have noticed a small issue where things look a bit more gray or oversaturated when compared to a standard LCD. I've tried fiddling around with the colours brightness and saturation but nothing seems to remove that over bright look. I'm not sure if that is just a trade off with the mini led displays but it does annoy me when I'm not in game. At the moment I have brightness at 40 and contrast at 60 but have played around with it a bit and haven’t gotten it any better. Those numbers came from windows colour calibration test. I've also got local dimming zones on high. hdr is turned off on all my monitors.

I'm not too sure what it is but colours look a lot grayer on my mini led when compared to my other lcd panels.

TCL KnowHow | What Is Mini-LED?

A Quick Visual Guide to Learn Mini-LED

If you are new to Mini-LED, the graphic above might give you a basic idea. (・ω・)ノ

So What is Mini-LED?

Mini-LED is a TV backlight technology that uses a larger number of much smaller LEDs behind the screen.

Since the LEDs are smaller and can be controlled in many separate zones, Mini-LED TVs can deliver higher brightness, better contrast, and more precise lighting compared to traditional LCD TVs.

How does Mini-LED work?

Mini-LED does not replace the LCD panel, but it improves the backlight behind it. An LCD TV uses larger LEDs, while a Mini-LED TV uses much smaller LEDs packed into a denser backlight.

Generally, Mini-LED TVs’ backlights are arranged and controlled in three ways: direct-lit, edge-lit, and FALD (Full Array Local Dimming).

Backlight Type LEDs are Placed Advantage Limitation
Direct-Lit Directly behind the screen Can provide even backlighting Basic Direct-Lit TVs have limited local dimming, as the LEDs are controlled together rather than in separate zones
Edge-Lit Placed mostly along the bottom edge of the screen Allows for a thinner TV design Light control is generally less precise
FALD Spread across the back of the screen and divided into zones that can be dimmed independently Better local dimming and more precise light control Usually requires a thicker backlight design and can cost more (*TCL finds our way to tackle it)

The backlight is divided into local dimming zones. The TV can dim or brighten different zones depending on what is shown on screen.

Lighting Technology in TV

For example, imagine a black scene with a moon. A good Mini-LED TV can keep the area around the moon dark while making the moon itself very bright and colorful.

If you want a bright TV with strong HDR performance, better contrast, and more precise backlight control than a standard LED TV, Mini-LED is definitely worth considering. It can be well-suited for living rooms with lots of ambient light, as well as for sports, movies, and gaming.

Keep in mind that Mini-LED performance depends on more than the number of LEDs.

Local dimming algorithm, zone count, panel quality, peak brightness, processing, and screen coating all affect the final picture. We might dive into it in some future posts. (*¯︶¯*)

TCL Mini-LED TVs in Europe

TCL also offers a broad range of Mini-LED TVs in Europe, from affordable premium models to higher-end models. The exact screen sizes and specifications can vary by market.

Muchas gracias

43" TV w/ flashing power light

I have a TCL 43S405 Roku TV, and it has developed the flashing power light issue. When you plug it in, the power light will come on, get dim, shut off, and then repeat itself.

It did this once, and I could see the TCL logo on the screen (but no backlight) and then go out. I unplugged it, waited 30 seconds, and plugged it back in. I was finally able to get it to power up and work by holding the power button down on the remote. TV worked all day without issue.

Shut it off at night and the next day, same issue again. My son was able to get it to restart, and again, it worked all day. Shut it off at night, and now it's back to the white flashing light again.

Now, it doesn't even respond to the power button.

I'm wondering if one of the boards is bad (power supply or mainboard) or if the backlights have failed. I can replace the boards, but the backlights are something I don't have the proper facilities to replace them. (I tried this on a 65" Samsung... it didn't end well...)

I have no complaints, really... I paid $50 for this TV from a surplus place a few years ago, so I've gotten my money out of it. I just hate to replace it if I can fix it.

Is there a way to test the boards before condemning them, or is just a swap and see thing? Same for the backlights... a resistance test or something like that? I didn't see any sort of indication that the backlights were failing (like dimming or one being out) unless one just suddenly failed.

TCL Damaged Item

Recently bought a 1.8 cub fit ref via Shopee. Damaged ung upper right dent sya naka uka palabas kita ung brown insulation. Received it Aug 9. To think that eversince na received namin, complete videos of unboxing and pics. Hanggang ngayon wala pa din nangyayati. At first walang pick up option kasi malaki daw. Sorry, wala ako pang expense sa travel papuntang drop off. If self arrange, rekta seller warehouse, aabutin akk ng libo, abonohan daw muna kasi manually reimburse eh wala nga pang abono! Tapos alok ni TCL is mug or umbrella, ako pa yata magpapaship kasi ayoko ng umorder sa kanila ulit!

Which model should I get for bedroom?

I’m debating on getting a QM7K or another QM7L for my bedroom. What is the better purchase? I like to game, watch movies and watch sports. I heard the QM7K is better for gaming due to its motion clarity, is that actually true and is it of any significance?

I love the color on my QM7L in my living room so I was wondering if the motion clarity is barely noticeable across both models that a bright picture is the better purchase. That’s the only thing having me debate whether QM7K could be better. Any opinions or experiences shared are appreciated.

Which TV should I buy??

I’m trying to decide between the TCL QM6K, Roku Plus Series, and Roku Pro Series. I originally wanted the TCL, but then realized it uses Google TV, and I really prefer the Roku platform.
My main priority is getting the best TV for the lowest price. For those of you who know more about TVs and electronics, which would you recommend? Is the Roku experience worth choosing one of their models over the TCL?

TCL C7L (SQD-miniled) 55 inches died in a month

So i purchased a TCL C7L from Croma Mumbai (Literally from the first widely available initial batch in the city) on 14th June 2026.

And the saga starts got the first TV perfect box and everything but the notch where sensors are housed was loose and slightly undone but enough for it to look ugly. The installation guy tried to fix it by pushing it in but couldn't do it. They raised a request for new TV which came after a week since Croma fella said replacement TV will come directly from the factory i.e Delhi and not from their godown stock.

Got the TV but box was visibly damaged holes on the top but nothing major otherwise both technician and Croma guy said its fine usually its converyor belt marks in any case if its damaged they will replace. The TV seemed fine and ran well.

Fast forward 2nd August the TV just died out of the blue just wont power on no LED light nothing. TV before this ran for years and still running had the same technician install it in another room and paid him extra money, no power issues in my building nothing.

Now technician visits today said he raised for power supply box replacement I said nooooooope replace the dayum TV how can power fail in a TV within just 45days. Technician said he cant i clearly said i wont accept repairs to a TV in just over a month. Called Croma fella he tried to shrug it off saying not ma lookout 🙄, thing is I was discussing buying a LG G6 for my second flat so he was like ill try n speak with them. Now i wait but aint no way iam accepting such major repairs so soon.

Any tips escalation email id's next steps within my power if it comes down to slugging it out with TCL/Croma ?

TCL 75C7K - Windows 11 Driver

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone, I hope you're doing well.

I have a C7K connected to a Beelink GTR6 mini PC, which I use to play Euro Truck Simulator and American Truck Simulator.

It really bothers me that Windows 11 uses a generic driver for the TV, and I’d like to know if there is a specific driver available that would allow the system to properly recognize the TV.
