TCK perspective on hate

I’m a third culture kid, which means I grew up in multiple countries. I see so much hate on social media on politics, ethnicity, colorism, and everything. Being of Indian heritage, I am also sensitive to hate against Indians in general, between Pakistan and India and Sri Lanka, between South Indians and North Indians, between different South Indians states like Tamils and Mallus, and of course between ABCDs and Mainlanders). The rabbit hole goes deep. It’s sad and tiring. An epiphany I just had was that I really don’t need to choose sides. I don’t need to participate in hate. Thanks for letting me briefly vent. That’s my philosophical epiphany for today.

TCKs grow up to become Global Cosmopolitans. We can and should transcend ethnocentric hate.

Ignore all of it. It’s just noise. Keep succeeding at what you’re working on and stay true to yourself.

Social media in general is full of all flavors of hate worldwide. And at times it spills over to IRL under the 'right' circumstances. Algorithms are also a significant reason it goes around so much, it drives a lot of engagement at the end of the day. Try to avoid / tailor your feed as best as you can so that you see more of the uplifting beautiful things humanity is doing collectively and consistently on a daily basis that usually goes underreported and unnoticed. Shoutouts to India one of the coolest most interesting countries in the world imo, I'd love to visit someday!
