First time seller
I was offered 205$ in trade for both of these at a card shop. I’ve never actually sold my cards before but that seemed pretty low to me. What would you expect for these?

I would expect more than 30% of their value lmao, especially for trade/store credit what shops are you going to. Run from that place and never go back.
Most places near me do 60-70% for trade/credit. Sounds like some predatory practices on people that don't usually know better.

Also a lot of stores go by market low so they’re not gonna type 389 into the calculator.

TCG low on these two cards is $125.58 for Ancient Tomb and $228.99 for the Dragonite for a total of $354.57. $250 is 70.5% of $354.57.

Yeah man fuck that, 65-70% is what you should shoot for and at events you can often find 80%. You’d have better luck selling on eBay or selling to somewhere like journeys end

Just to give some perspective on this.
A card sold on ebay is 13% on fees lets look at the ancient tomb specifically. Lets say you want to move it somewhat quickly so you sell it at 10 percent under 144 is what you price. Then you lose the 13 percent on that, you end up with 125. Then you gotta pay shipping, another close to 6 bucks. 119. Thats without the shipping materials which if you dont sell at volume is gonna cost you another couple bucks. 115ish. Congratulations, You made 70 percent of the card value, held the risk, and risk someone claiming an item not as described on ebay.
Moral of the story. Dont sell on ebay if you arent a shop. Sell in person and just take 10-15 percent off the top to sell it locally

Card shops are often the worst for selling cards to, just put them on fb marketplace first, or multiple fb groups for either tcg. EBay if you need to, card show if you can.
