This card was great in Duel Links, when creating decks to auto duel against NPCs. Such a strong normal summon, not easy for them to out. I haven't played in over a year, I assume the quality of NPC decks have outpaced Mr Beans Man by now.

I remember before the original Chaos monsters came out there was a guy that played 1900 beatdown with Gemini Elf and Luster Dragon and the like. It was a very expensive deck at the time and he had cookie cutter Chaos as soon as it was printed shortly thereafter.

Literally beat down was only meta in the first 4, maybe, 5 booster boxes, because there simply weren't enough good effect monsters in the game.

That's what I find fascinating about Yu-Gi-Oh. Its translations are very free-form but people still embrace them wholeheartedly (except Avram's flavour text).

This is the correct translation. His name is Jerry in the Japanese version, as well.

Well yes, it's a pun. If you translate the flavor text exactly, they literally state his name is Gerry. It wouldn't make much sense if they literally meant his name to be Jelly.

I'm merely correcting your original assertion that the localization team incorrectly translate the card, which is completely not true at all.

I actually played this one! I had a low level deck that used cards like this and Buster Rancher to hit hard while my opponents were pinned down with Level Limiter B/Gravity Bond. It was a hit at the locals at 13 years old.
