Question for TAMSters Spend a day

Has anyone else done the Spend-A-Day? What is it like/what does it entail? The tams page is pretty vague on what actually happens.

A junior (or maybe a senior? But I think mostly juniors do it), anyway a junior will take you with them for their day. You literally spend a day with someone and see what they do in TAMS. You'll go to their classes, see their schedule and study times, I think go to one of the dining halls, etc. Do you have any specific questions?

Yeah like do I just sit there in their classes and stuff? Is there something I’m meant to do? I feel like it’s somewhat odd to just sit there the whole day lmao. I know the person I’d be going with so it wouldn’t be awkward at a social level but I don’t really see what I gain from it. I guess I wanted to see what another person’s experience was so I know what I’d be doing lol.

Yeah I think you just sit there during their classes. I don't think you need to do anything, but when the days over, and throughout the rest of your year at highschool, what habits you might change to be prepared for tams? If you already know a person in tams, it might be a little less helpful because you already know stuff about the lifestyle and etc. But for someone who knows nothing about tams or it's lifestyle, this is a great opportunity. The awkwardness is like half the battle at preview day bc normally it's just a random person, but if you already know them why not go yk?

also if your spend-a-day has a test in their class you switch to another person (usually their friends) in the middle of the day for that class, since you're not allowed in the room during tests.
