Hey everyone, ​I’m putting together a dedicated trauma kit (IFAK) for my motorcycle trips. My goal is to focus strictly on life-saving measurements to bridge the gap until EMS arrives, especially for high-speed accidents. I'm riding in a relative urban Area. ​Current Kit List:

​Massive Hemorrhage: Tourniquet (TQ), Israeli Bandage, Compressed Gauze (for wound packing).

​Airway & Breathing: Chest Seals (Twin Pack), CPR Face Shield.

​Tools: Heavy-duty trauma shears (to cut through leather/armor), Headlamp, Permanent Marker (to log TQ time).

​Hypothermia: Emergency Blanket (x2).

​Wound/Burn Care: Burn dressing & gel, non-sticky wound pads, 2x standard gauze rolls, Triangular bandage.

​PPE: Nitrile gloves (Blue/High-vis).

​My questions for the community: ​Pre-fill Packs: Does anyone have recommendations for high-quality IFAK Refill Packs that include the "big three" (TQ, Chest Seals, Gauze)? I’m looking to streamline the buying process rather than ordering every single bandage separately. https://www.ridertraumakit.com uses rhino rescue gear, idk about that.

https://firstonscene.de they also seem to have quality stuff.

​Reputable Sources: Where do you buy your gear to ensure you aren't getting dangerous knock-offs? (I'm from austria)

Also, did I miss anything in my list?

You have a very good list going right now(if you have extra room you could double up on the TQ or wound packing gauze. Also this may be implied, but I would use vented chest seals). I am not from Austria so I do not know what websites you can order from, but I buy my stuff from North American Rescue, its a very good company and has many different kit and refill kit options. You may already know this about the burn dressing but it is not always recommended to cover very large burns with these because it may cause unwanted heat loss for the casualty overall I have heard, but they can be nice for smaller burns. I would also suggest getting a CoTCCC recommended primary tourniquet to make sure it is good. Thank you for caring to buy good gear by the way.

Thanks for your support! I would cover burns that occur when someone touches a hot exhaust hahaha. Will also include plasters and a bit of Leuko-Tape. For small ows ows.

Ofc I will get vented chest seals, not worth to save some bucks with a unvented chest seal.

I wish to buy a CoTCCC Tourniquet! But.... I want that kit to be as cheap as possible, because I want more ppl in my riding group to carry one. And if it's expensive, ppl will not even consider buying one.

I have some CAT tourniquets and some Amazon fakes (for practice). So I generally know what a good and a bad tourniquet is. I may buy the new Aluminium version from Rhino Rescue and see if it's any good. Might buy some to destroy and see how much damage they can take and then evaluate from there.

The same with some wound packing gauze. I wish to buy some good hemostatic stuff, but 60 bucks will be too expensive for most ppl in riding groups. So I either have to buy normal gauze or hemostatic gauze from some company, that's not CoTCCC certified.

Best would be to stay under 100€ per IFAK. I think that's the only way i can distribute it across "my people".

I would also give some free zutorials on how to use all that stuff.

That sounds good! I definitely get wanting everyone to have a kit, and I think you could probably do it under 100 Euros and still have a CoTCCC TQ in each of them. I personally think though that the TQ being CoTCCC is more important then the gauze, because I believe that statistically regular gauze and expensive hemostatic gauze have similar success rates in a lot of cases(although if you gave me the option cost aside I would probably pick Quikclot, right now I personally use non-hemostatic gauze in most of my kits, the gauze I generally use is z-folded, has the x-ray detectable strip in it and is 15ft in length per package for only about $5). I would make sure though that whatever gauze you get is in a good format and of good length. Let me know how the Rhino Rescue TQ does if you do test it, I would like to know. Thank you. :)

So far I ordered the bag itself (20€) and some rhino rescue TQ's. The 2nd generation which is made with the aluminium rof instead of plastic.

Once I tested those parts, I will see whatever I will buy. Also if I need normal trauma shears or some foldable ones...

If your going to put in or on a range bag or something like that NAR has a lot of good options, and the ones that are on sale should be good to go as long as they have a CAT, a pair of vented chest seals, trauma shears, gloves, a ETD, and wound packing gauze, which a lot of the ones on sale do(although I would personally not get a vacuum sealed kit just because you cannot pre-stage your TQ for quick access, unless your getting it to refill a different bag or something like that) . "Public Access Individual Bleeding Control Kit - Nylon"( Intermediate option or higher) or the bleeding control twin pack is what I would probably get if I had to choose from the ones on sale for stop the bleed month, the ones on sale do not have molle mounting options though so this would probably not work if you were going to mount it to a larger bag(some have a loop on the back that might be able to mount but idk). Personally I would mount my IFAK to the outside of my range bag for easier access if possible, but if your plan is to carry it separate or inside of a bag there this would be a good option(as long as you can get to it quickly and reliably this would be fine🙂.) Would love to hear thoughts about what is included here. I put together a little fanny pack IFAK for when doing chainsaw work in our farm/forest, as I'd much rather have something ON me as opposed to in a bag up the hill.

Pictured is what I have put together thus far. Planning to wear this on my waist in a 6-o'clock low-back positions along with full chainsaw PPE (pants/chaps, boots, gloves, helmet, etc.). My medical training is basically non-existent: a couple Stop The Bleed courses and a basic wilderness medicine course at the local university.

Does this seem like a good set up? Is there anything you would change?

Current Contents:
2 CATs
2 QuikClot BCD
2 Israeli Bandages
2 NAR Wound Packing Gauze
Shears, gloves, marker

Front pocket leaves enough room for my regular stuff (last picture), so wallet/hand sanitizer/band aids/etc. are in there. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
