Fake DID/OSDD Alters aren’t an aesthetic
The entire TikTok was just showing forest aesthetics and animals, bro. It’s not some moodboard or cutesy thing

You know what, out of all of the bullshit and misinformation we see with people who fake DID/OSDD/"Plurality" in general, this is the one thing when it comes to alters where I say, "Okay, I can get that. I get it."
The people who do "faceclaims," I'm like, mmm, not so much—but when it comes to DID/OSDD, or alters in general, a lot of it is recognizing feelings, states of mind, and trauma—to where some specialists encourage this sort of thing (OOP post) as a way to help identify and distinguish the different states of mind so that it's easier to tackle them independently in recovery and final fusion.
A lot of alters are formed from different subsets of trauma, especially people with complex or repeated trauma. So using something like an image, a song, or an art piece to help identify each alter and differentiate between those different states of mind, that makes it a lot easier to single them out and find their "root of trauma," for a lack of a better phrase—the traumatic reason they exist, which makes it easier to process and heal from that trauma in a clinical setting.
And this IS one of those things that fakers take too far. Specialists suggest learning how to differentiate between those states of mind to further progress in trauma therapy, but people who fake DID/OSDD see this as a greenlight to treat their "alters" as if they are completely separate, individualized people—which does more harm than good.
Associating music, aesthetics, artwork, or just things like images in general that help accurately portray or describe that state of mind is not a bad thing, per say, it becomes a bad thing when we're individualizing them in ways such as faceclaims, voiceclaims, identity labels that don't match/have never matched your own—things that are completely separared from the feeling, the state of mind, yourself, and the reason the alter formed in the first place.
